Question about Mag Innovision lt456s 14" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor Display I've had my mag monitor for probably 2 years now at the most. I've never had any problems with it. I always leave my computer on, and now for some reason the screen goes completely to white when I turn it on. I turn it on and off a few times, sometime the image shows up very faded and blotchy. I mess with some cords and things, turn it off and on a few times and eventually the screen shows up perfectly again. It's very upsetting; I spent alot of money on this and it shouldn't be screwing up so soon. No one thing seems to make it work again every time. I've restarted the computer and it seemed to work, but the next time I tried it, it didn't work. Messing with the connection to the compuiter (jiggling it, disconnecting it and reconnecting it) has worked, but not this time. Turning the monitor off and then on has worked, but not always. And it doesn't help that I leave the monitor off with the computer on, or even when I turn them both off.

I have had similar problems with my Mag LCD monitor. I recently dicovered that the problem was with the adapter and not the monitor. Try replacing the power adapter.

I have the same problem with a customer's monitor (LT716S); it turned out to be damaged power supply board. As I understand it, MAG has a 3 year warranty on parts, will probably charge you a flat labor fee plus shipping. If you do not have your purchase documentation for warranty, dump it and replace. If you can, then you may wish to have it repaired.

My customer replaced theirs; I am trying to purchase replacement parts to repair...good luck.

Mag monitor doesn't display bios post

I have no experience with the DVI links because such technology is still unavailable here in Argentina. We have DVI video cards but finding a suitable DVI monitor is another (long) story.
I think that your card (that has 2 DVI ports) is initializing one port first (the primary one) and then, when windows starts, it initializes the other and outputs video from both ports.
Try connecting the monitor in the other DVI port.
If your card has a VGA output, the VGA gets initialized first.

Mag Innovision 765S Screen Flashes on and off.

It sounds like it is trying to re-synchronize it self and not going back the the default setting. Compare the resolution of the game to your monitor capabilities.

Monitor display shifted offscreen

I would be carefull with refresh rates unless you know the maximum and minum rates to apply to your monitor. I solved this problem before for someone and what i recomen is to set your normal desktop to the same resulution as your computer games. That way when you leave your games or reboot it will be the same. See what is happening is when you play your games it is a higher resultion then your normal desktop. And when you log off from it your monitor has to re adjust to the old settings. This will cause a shift. By setting them both the same you will avoid this problem all together.

Power light flashes with no display

That usually means that the connection between the PC and the monitor has been interupted- check that the cable (probably has blue ends) between the two is firmly connected, and power it back up. If that doesn't work, you have one of three problems; a broken VGA cable, a broken monitor, or a broken video card. Finding out which- you'll actually need someone tech-savvy there to help you figure that out. Try plugging the monitor into a different computer. If that fails, use a different VGA cable (cables are pretty cheap at monoprice.com), and if that fails, it's your video card.
