Replaced broken screen and now, after being returned from the Laptop repair shop, when booting/turning on the laptop sometimes does not power on. Even when I connect it to an external screen, it does not power on. 1 time in 7 - on repeated attempts, occasionly it turns on & works without problems.
It seems your DC socket is suspect, as sometimes it connects and powers on and at times it doesn't. replacing the DC socket on the motherboard should cure it.

Have you tried booting with a windows cd, and then running a disk check?

Sorry, but i don't think there is fuse on motherboard.
More likely its a loose DC socket cable to motherboard or faulty AC adapter.
If Dc - ok, AC - ok, then its a faulty motherboard.
SOURCE: LCD turns white.
probably failure in the LCD controller IC in the lcd controller board. that no signal was sent out to the lcd driver ic thus you could only see white display. A replacement of LCD panel is the best solution. best regards
No I do not think that model has an external video connection.
