That sounds like a video card malfunction. Do you have access to another just to test?

Sometimes, monitors have the capability to 'scale the video's signal', however this is on top of the line monitor models. It is possible that your video card is trusting the monitor to do this.

Most mid-to-high-quality video cards have option whether to ask the monitor to do this or the use the cards capability. Always choose the card. It's in the hardware for faster and higher quality images.

    Peace

I don't know if this actually will fix your problem, but all LCM 22w2's are plagued with the 'white screen of death' and eventual power shutoff, including garbage characters and faulty menu, video output, etc. Here's how I fixed it.

The Westinghouse LCM 22w2 has bad capacitors on the yellow power supplyboard. This is a common problem plaguing motherboards and LCDflatpanels that use capacitors from Taiwan. If you know how to solder,or know somebody that can, it's actually a pretty easy fix. Take outthe yellow circuit board on the inside, write down the specificationsfor each of the capacitors (the cylindrical things) go to theelectronics supply store and get the replacement capacitors. You can goover the voltage specification (not under), but keep the capacitancevalue matching. Replace one at a time. Go to www.badcaps.net foradvice, tutorials and training on doing this. *You really shouldreplace all the capacitors*, but the very large one next to the powerplug I did leave on the board because I couldn't find a match. To mydelight, the white screen of death went away and it was working as new!

I saved a ton of money fixing this, it's definitely worth learning how to solder to do this.

Trying to program my Westinghouse LCM-22w2 ComputerMonitor/TV with my AT&T U-Verse Remote Control. What's the code?

There is no tuner in the monitor, it only works as a TV with a tuner added. The remote would work with the tuner, not the monitor !

My Westinghouse LCM 22w2 (1 year old) has developed a green line running top to bottom of the screen. I cannot get rid of it. I've tried turning the monitor off, changing inputs, reseting - but it's...

Unfortunately that is a failure in the display electronics and is repairable only by replacing the display panel. I don't know what the warranty period is for this model, but check your purchase date and the warranty information. If the thing is just recently out of warranty maybe the manufacturer will work with you on a solution. Or you can contact them anyway and ask. Sometimes if you complain loud enough it works wonders.

Your problem isn't precisely the same one I had, but I have the feeling you're not saying that this was a problem that gradually got worse over time and now it won't power up.

Monitor does not turn on at all

Well kind of. Check your capacitors. If you search on the internet on how to replace the capacitors in a flat panel montior you will find tons of very detailed and informational videos and forums on how to do this. It is really quite simple and none the less cheap.

Westinghouse LCM22W2 shows a display then turns off after half a second

I have the same problem and have traced it down to a potential power supply issue.  I bought mine at Best Buy in '06 and was told today that they will test the power supply for free.  It may range from $50.00 to $100.00 depending on where you can get it.  This does not include labor for those not qualified to work with electronics.  Hope this helps you.
