Sorry but I'am looking for the second memory slot on a Philips X59 laptop. The one that is easy to see is as in most cases can be got at from the underside Hard-drive cover. There is a second slot for a further max 1gb somewhere else and think it maybe under the keyboard. But how do I get to it.

I have a macbook white 4.1. and I am trying to replace memorynya (2x512mb) with a memory only 1 slot with capacity of 2 GB. But after that, my macbook is always an error / stop the process

Unfortunately, you cannot replace just one of the memory DIMMs. You must replace both existing DIMMs with the same upgrade memory DIMM. Also, be sure that your Macbook will be able to support the 2GB DIMMs. It may not.

How much memory can you install onto a macbook I would like to upgrade to 1TB

I do not believe you can upgrade to 1TB on a macbook. It depends on the model macbook you have (how old it is). If it is a 2009-2010 model you can put in 2 4G memory modules for a maximum of 8 MG on the latest macbook pros (2009 -2010). 2008 models take 4 MG max. Here is a good link to look at from Apple which I believe will give you just the answers you are looking for: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1270.
http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/03/26/apple-macbook-pro-1tb-hard-drive-upgrade/ This is an interesting article about a company who will upgrade your MAC harddrive to 1TB. However the maximum memory for newest model Macbooks is, as I said above 8 MB.

Good luck! If you find this helpful please vote or comment!

When switching laptop on the screen goesw blue with a error sign even when trying to do a system restor it does the same after putting f8 then repair your comp

The blue screen of death is commonly associated with memory problems.
If this is happening outside of running windows, the you either have faulty Ram or a faulty motherboard. Have you overclocked the machine? Try setting the bios back to factory defaults. Try resetting the CMOS on the motherboard. If you have more than one memory module, take them out and try one at a time in each slot.
Looking on the upside, maybe it's time to upgrade... motherboards and ram have never been cheaper!

MacBook Pro 15'' RAM Problems

The earliest MacBook (Pro) models have a limit of 2 GB. To check the specific model, in the Apple menu select about this Mac. Then press more info... . Look at the line like "Model Identifier: MacBook5,2" for my white early 2009 MacBook. If the numbers are 1,1 then for sure you have the oldest model and are memory limited to 2 GB, as the sum of both cards.
That's just like my wife's, it was a Core Duo and not the current Core 2 Duo. Works fine. I was ready to up its memory but read about this in the Apple Support Forum. It came originally with 1 stick of 512 MB, IIRC. I upgraded it to 2x1 GB for a lot more than the 2x2 GB in the newer. BTW some of the Macs between these only take 3 GB but will work with 2x2 GB just throwing 1 GB away. -Ken

Add Memory to G4 Notebook

Don it's real easy.

http://www.macinstruct.com/node/162

Slim down version

  • Pop the cover and you'll see the motherboard.
  • Atach anti-static cable to chasis of pc and touch the battery pack or pc frame.
  • Put the card in the memory slot.
  • Remvoe cable adn replace cover.
  • Re-start pc.
Note:

I wouldn't fix your pc on carpet (static reasons) or while your standing wearing socks on carpet with the Mac on the table (obviously).

Sounds simple but you've never believe how may people forget.

That's it.

Can i place a 4g and 2g stick in my macbook pro

Hello! The MacBook Pro you have mentioned can only support 4GB's total. 2GB's in the first slot, and 2GB's on the second slot.

What you may have seen by accident was that you can purchase either a 4GB kit, or a 2GB kit. Meaning a 4GB kit with 2 2GB sticks, or a 2GB kit with 2 1GB sticks.

Your best bet is to go with a 2GB stick in each slot to max out your MacBook Pro. 2GB's is the largest each slot can read.

For more information, check out the website below which has very detailed information on memory for various systems.
