Question about Sony KP-51HW40 51" Rear Projection Television
I've had similar problems in the past with my tv. What worked for me was taking off the front panel to get access to the tv that way. There is a little black box on the front, right, side that has 6 screws on it (2 rows of 3). I think the top row adjusts the focus for each color tube and the bottom row adjusts the power going to each color tube. My tv would turn on blue for a few seconds then shut itself off because the blue tube was getting too much power. I turned down (counter clock wise) the screw that corresponded to blue tube and it worked like a charm. Might have to play around a little bit to get the screws at the right level so that the tv stays on while still getting enough power to the tube to have the screen look right. If the problem is with the red or green the solution is the same, just with the corresonding screw. Hope that helps.
