I have no cable how do i program this tv set?

I assume you also have no satelite dish. You are probably on an antenna (or rabbit ears). If you don't already have one, you need a DTV Digital to Analog converter box. I am assuming you want to snag broadcast signals from the air, like in the good old days before the massive digital conversion of most broadcast stations. Might be hard to find one in retail stores, but start with WalMart or Best Buy, and if that fails you might check eBay (I think it is too late to get the government rebate which absorbed almost the entire cost of the box, but you might check around on Google searching on 'DTV Digital Analog Rebate'). The DTV converter will change the digital signal now being broadcast on most stations to an analog signal that your antenna connection will recognize. Without a signal, you can't program the channels because the tuner has nothing to latch onto. After getting a signal you just follow instructions for your TV to search for channels -- if you don't have instructions you might have to play around with the menus on-screen until you find what you need, but essentially it will be obvious when you see it ... the on-screen instruction will say something like select or program channels, and may let you choose manally or search automatically (choose automatically after hooking in the DTV converter to find all channels). Hope I understood your problem, your description is a bit vague.

I hooked up an antenna but I don't get a signal...do I need a box for my DS24425?

vzalutka,
Your model TV was built with a analog receiver. Last year in June there was a change over to digital broadcasting which left your TV unable to view over-the -air signals without a digital decoder. You will need to purchase a box. I included two site to visit for more information.

After the DTV switch, should I be placing the cable cord into the dtv output to receive all the DTV channels? Protron PLTV 3250 is the set I have and it doesn't seem to get the DTV channels like my other...

Your question is confusing. If you have cable, you don't need a DTV converter box.

If your cable company has switched to digital cable, they will provide you a box, and the cable should go from the wall into the box, then into your TV.

If you don't have cable but instead rely on an antenna, then the wire will go from the antenna into the DTV box, then from the DTV box into the back of the TV. If you're using a regular coaxial cable to go from the DTV box into the television, the TV should be set to channel 3. If you're using the red-yellow-white RCA wires between the DTV box and the television, the TV must be tuned to "Aux," "Line In," "Input Select," or whatever it's labeled on your particular set.

Daewoo television not receiving channels anymore

I don't know where you live or what TV stations are available, but many stations have already changed to digital before the new deadline. If the TV is still in good operating condition, I would get a converter rather than purchase a new set. You can still get a coupon at: http://www.dtv.gov/getcoupon.html

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.

Is this TV digital ready

According to http://www.dtv.gov/consumercorner.html#faq9

How can I be sure that I am buying a digital TV (DTV)?
By law, beginning March 1, 2007, all television reception devices (including TVs, VCRs, DVRs, etc.) imported into the U.S. or shipped in interstate commerce must contain a digital tuner. Retailers may continue to sell analog-only devices from existing inventory, but must prominently display on or near the analog-only device a Consumer Alert label with this advisory:

What is the difference between “Integrated” DTVs and DTV or HDTV “Monitors”?
An Integrated DTV set is a television with a built-in digital tuner (also referred to as “a DTV”). A digital tuner is also sometimes called a DTV decoder or DTV receiver. If you have an Integrated DTV, you will not need any additional equipment, with the exception of a broadcast antenna (either a rooftop antenna or “rabbit ears” connected to the set), to receive over-the-air digital broadcast programming. Integrated DTVs can also receive and display analog broadcast programming, so you can continue watching analog broadcasts.
In contrast, a DTV Monitor is not capable of receiving digital broadcast programming without additional equipment; it is simply a display device without the processing capability for DTV reception. A digital or HD set-top box must be connected between the antenna and the monitor to receive and display over-the-air digital or HD programming.
If you have a digital or HD “Monitor” and would like to purchase a digital or HD set-top box to view over-the-air programming, confirm with your retailer that the set-top box is compatible with your Monitor.

Is a booster needed for the tb100mw9 dtv converter box?

Best solution would be to use an outdoor antenna with an amplifier(booster)--but in some areas you may get by with an amplified set top antenna. Just all depends on your location..

In perspective, I have an outdoor UHF dish and 10 foot VHF antennas with an amplifier and still i get only fair reception on outlying digital stations that normally come in clear on analog.

Also--this converter box must complete the autoscan with an antenna attached, or else you'll receive NOTHING; not even by manually selecting a known digital channel.

This #@!! box automatically locks out what it considers to be unused or weak channels. It makes the decisions and you're left with 'no signal' messages and nothing to do but try a rescan.....and you cannot add channels to any it has already found.

I have a Trutech PVS31170S1W LCD Tv,do i need a converter box?

Your tv is DTV ready, it has both an ATSC and NTSC tumer. You can recieve analog and digital OTA (over the air) signals.
You will need to connect an antenna and set the tuning band to AIR not CABLE..
I have provided a link with more information on DTV and Antenna's.

Is the tv that I have bought about 6 years ago ready for DTV?

6 year old tv probably not digital ready. The converter box will work if tv is on channel 3 and you use a UHF antenna. Most converter box connections have 75 ohm connectors, your tv may have the round connector to accept the input signal. If you have screw on terminals on the tv you will have to go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a matching transformer to go between the tv and the converter box. UHF antenna can be made out of a coat hanger. Just make a circle clean the paint off ends and attach. Or just buy a digital booster antenna at WalMart.
