I finally figured out how to get them downloaded onto my memory card, but the phone wont recognize the mp3's. Any ideas you could give me?? Todd Roberts thank you !! P.S. my service provider is Cricket Wireless I have a Samsung sch-r450 Messenger, Metro PCS is the phone carrier. I have downloaded music to the memory card in two different formats (MP3 as the phone requires), and still the phone doesn't recognize that there is anything on the memory card. I am a computer programmer, so you would think I could get this to work. The MP3s play with Quicktime, but will not on the R450. What is UP?

I posted my first problem with this Samsung Messager R450 back in January '09. Some of you have tried to suggest ideas but none are working.

I have formatted my card several different times. I have converted my entire library of music on my PC to MP3 files, I have downloaded more music to my computer in only the MP3 format. I have also tried several different programs to sync my phone and or card to with no luck.

Recently, I have formatted my card then using windows media player attempted to transfer my music over. My computer shows there is music on the micro sd card, however my phone still doesn't recognize it. I look in the memory card usage and it shows the majority is full, but still the phone does recognize it. I can even copy the music back to my computer from the card, and it plays fine, but still my phone doesn't see it. I have tried using the flash drive and the USB cable that it came with and still nothing. I even tried downloading a samsung driver to help with this and still can't get it to work.

If you can help, please give me a step by step method to fix this problem. or atleast point out what i may be doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

This is not exactly clear- it says to turn it on, and then it says to turn it on again without ever mentioning when to turn it off.
As I do appreciate the attempt to help, the advice isn't specific or clear enough for me.

Did you format the card with the phone? It should put 4 folders on the sd card. One for music, one for pictures, one for ringtones and one for sounds.

Try this:
Pu the card in the phone, and turn on the phone.
Turn the phone back on and remove the card.
Plug back into the computer and look for the music folder.
put all your mp3s in there and remove it from the computer.
Put it back in the phone and turn it back on.
It should now find all of your music.
Good Luck!

I have samsung c3200. i have 2GB memory card in it. i want to set a particular song as ring tone. when i set, it ask me to copy that song to phone memory. my phone uses a shared memory.that is for sounds images themes it allocates seperate memory space. so for sounds i.e songs it has only 7MB. it also has 10 songs as default which i cant delete. so i have no space to copy them to phone memory. so that i could not set a song as ring tone. any ideas could you give me?

Here ya go
1. Format the card with the phone and shut it off (leave the card in)
2. with the phone being off, take the card out, and plug the card into your pc somehow (with a card reader or etc.)
3. Open the mass storage device, and open the folder that says "Music"
4. Click and drag mp3's (no folders at all) folders will hide your music and your phone will not find it.
5. Once your done filling the card up, make sure the phone is STILL OFF! and plug your card back in it.
6. Turn the phone on, and go to the multimedia menu, then go to the music player, and BAM.
Enjoy! Make sure you get an adapter for the jack, they have em at radio shack for 10 bucks, or any electronic store.
