It's on the top of the motherboard (under keyboard) on the right side of the board.

SOURCE: Step to how to replce cmos battery toshiba 1805-s254

Hi!
If you already found the cmos battery, then try to check its "rating" and size to accomodate inside the board. After that fix it as it should be.

SOURCE: cmos error on bootup

Carefull! The 1800 had a notoriously lousy MB/bios problem. While it still works, get yourself to Toshiba support and get the LATEST bios for the right version of your board, and get it IN ASAP...
Otherwise you might well end up with a brick..

Schematics for pavilion501n motherboard

In order to locate a schematic for a specific motherboard, you need to know the motherboard's manufacturer name, mode number and revision number which is stamped on the board. You cannot ask for a computer's motherboard diagram based on the computer brand name and model number.
How to Check Your Motherboard Model Number on Your Windows PC
You can use the the aforementioned link to also get the same info specs of the motherboard without opening the case by using the Command line (CMD.exe) or by downloading a GUI based software app.
However, I prefer looking at the main board for the stamped info.
How did you determine that the CMOS chip is re-configuring itself?
Are you confusing the BIOS with CMOS, which are two separate and distinct components.
If the CMOS battery on the motherboard grows weak, or becomes dead, your BIOS settings will reset each time you power off the computer.
Most CMOS batteries are replaceable; some manufacturers solder them in place.
One of the first tell tale signs of a weakening or dead CMOS battery, is having to reset the system clock.
Try changing the CMOS battery; make sure your computer is unplugged from the wall outlet (or Back-UPS); then replace the CMOS battery; plug the computer into the wall outlet (or Back-UPS); power up your computer, enter the system BIOS and configure it to your specs; remember to save the changes; warm reboot; after POST and O.S. start-up; turn off the computer normally- wait 10-20 seconds, do a cold boot to verify that the system BIOS configuration did not change.
Unless you had an electrical surge or spike that would damage the CMOS chip, in which case you might get a checksum error or.... someone is playing tricks on you by resetting the CMOS chip via its jumper; the only other culprit I can think of off hand is virus code infection to the CMOS chip.

Why won't my Toshiba Equium P200D-139 laptop stay on

It sounds like either the battery needs replacing or you need a new power supply.

If it works while plugged into the power and only shuts off when unplugged then it's the battery otherwise it's the power supply.

Any damage? Drop? You get Nothing? No fan spin? No LED's blink? Nothing? You didn't supply the Toshiba model or the OS? How old? Is it time to replace the CMOS battery?

Schematic for toshiba p200d-12kbecause i need to change the cmos battery

The CMOS battery will not prohibit the machine from powering on. If you're prompted before boot about the CMOS battery, you should be able to press whatever key-combination it asks for to move forward to boot. Otherwise, you have a separate problem.

Lost password...No help on internet so far for this model

There's only two ways to reset the CMOS battery on this laptop. One is to short out two solder points on the motherboard, which works on this model, as per this guide:
http://findpassword.net/reset-toshiba-satellite-bios-password/

The other is to contact Toshiba for support. They'll be able to help so long as you can prove ownership.

Where can i get recovery discs for my toshiba p200d laptop

You should contact the Toshiba support or service center for your country of residence and request the recovery CD's. They will refer your request to a third party which will contact you by phone and take your order. You will have to pay for them. I paid around 65 dollars for recovery CD's for a laptop.

Toshiba p200d-137LAPTOP-MOTHERBOARD

Don't even think about buying a second hand /used one, you are just asking for problems unless you actually see it come out of a working machine. You may as well buy a new laptop. Are you sure it's a motherboard problem.

Laptop wont start

This issue is often caused by either an incorrect setting in CMOS Setup or a bad boot device, such as a bad hard disk drive.

  1. Verify your boot options are properly set in CMOS setup. I recommend having the CD or disc drive as your first boot device and then hard drive as the second boot device.
  2. If your CMOS Setup has an option to boot from the LAN disable this option.
  3. If you have changed any CMOS settings, make sure to save and reboot the computer.

If this does not resolve the issue, try resetting the CMOS values to the default settings, save and exit.
If this fixes the problem but it reoccurs again later you main need a new cmos battery. Or keep your battery always slightly charged.
