If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me

Freezer vents full of frost.around every two months. Top refrigerator warm up. I resolve by removing all frost and ice from the freezer vents to clear cold path and get it to work. Possible problems...

First try melting the ice with hair dryer. See drain tube going to pan under frig? It can get clogged/frozen with ice. I cleaned mine with very warm water shot out of a water pik. Or u can hair dryer it, then pour warm water on the little pan that holds the drain tube. Be sure that tube is clear for draining.Otherwise, more ice at vents.

FREEZER WORKING BUT FRIDGE NOT

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and see if the evaporator coils are frozen over.
If so dethaw coils with a hair dryer.
Reassemble freezer and set controls to the normal position.

Although you replaced the defrost timer if the coils were frozen over in the freezer no air can transfer to the ref. section from the freezer.

If you do not want to dethaw the coils unplug the ref. for 1-2 days and leave the doors open .The coils will dethaw by then.

Food freezes in fridge

Looking over your refrigerators service manual and wiring diagram shows and electric damper that controls the flow of cold air from the freezer to the fresh food compartment. I just may be stuck with a little frost or we need to check it along with your jazz electronic control board part number 12868513. That board appears to control temperature, defrost and most everything on your model. And if not stuck the electric motor could be bad on the damper. These model are a little tricky so hopefully we can find the problem soon. If you would like to approach this yourself I would first unplug for a little time and try to force some warm air into the damper with a hair dryer to see if the damper will begin to move. Turning freezer colder also may cause the damper to shut more so as to keep the cold air in freezer. If the controls are not responsive then it's a toss up between the two. Be back with links, Thanks Sea Breeze

Jenn-Aire JCD2389GES Side by Side: Frig not cooling fully - freezer fine

i'm thinking that maybe an air duct is either blocked or the damper isnt opening. In the freezer compartment at the top right side there is a cover that is held in place by 1 screw. (look at item number 35 here). remove this cover and make sure ice is not blocking it up. if that is ok, then check the damper control to be sure it is opening and closing properly. The damper is located on the refrig side in the control cover (look at item# 8 here).

Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.
