Re: Mac Computer 9.2
The Print and Page Setup dialogs lists any USB printers connected to
your computer, any network printers you have added, and all the
printers that are shared by other computers on your local network.
To hide all the printers that are shared by other computers (which
appear in the Printer List with a pink-shaded background), open Print
Center preferences and deselect "Show printers connected to other
To hide printers you don't want to use, open Print Center and deselect
the checkbox in the Favorite column next to the printers in the Printer
List. All the printers still appear in Print Center, but only your
favorites appear in the dialogs.
To see if a printer is shared, open Print Center and look in the Host
column of the Printer List. You cannot delete shared printers from the
Printer List in Print Center (but you can hide them, as described
To see the Favorite or Host column, choose Columns from the View menu.

You should have Printer & Faxes or similar option somewhere in your system configuration where you change your system settings. Open it up and select the unwated printers. Uninstall/delete them. I'm no expert on Mac OS's, but i think that ought to solve your problem

HP's site shows driver downloads for OS 8, OS 9 and Windows XP 64-bit. Unless the Windows driver will work with Windows 7 (unlikely) or Windows 7 already supports it, you're going to have to replace your old Deskwriter. There isn't anything you can do otherwise.
This is the same kind of problem many people faced when XP was new. Since the operating system was so different, much older software and hardware was no longer compatible. Some hardware makers came out with updated drivers, but others didn't. Either their hardware wouldn't work at all with the new OS or they figured that it wasn't worth the time for a low-cost item (especially true for printers).
System preference, print & fax icon, add a printer (no need to use the software install disk), when you add the printer use the default protocol: Line Printer Daemon-LPD, address if you know your IP address type that in if not type in localhost and this will locate your printer and fill the print using field.
Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, if it fails go back in and under the print using field scroll for the driver or printer model, and selelct - Brother HL-525ODN or whatever brand you are trying to conect to and save.
I cant find the machine DCP-7020 but I think this machine is the same with model MFC-7420 if you have the installer CD follow these steps:
For USB Interface Cable Users For Mac OS® 9.1 to 9.2 & Software 1 Turn off and
unplug the MFC from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your Macintosh, if you
already connected an interface cable. 2 Turn on your
Macintosh. 3 Insert the
supplied CD-ROM for Macintosh into your CD-ROM drive. 4 Double-click the Start Here OS 9.1-9.2 icon to install the printer and scanner
drivers. If the language screen appears,
select your language. 5 Click MFL-Pro Suite to install. 6 Follow the
on-screen instructions, and restart your Macintosh. 7 Connect the USB
interface cable to your Macintosh, and then connect it to the MFC. DO NOT connect the MFC to a USB port on a keyboard or a nonpowered USB hub. 8 Plug in the power
cord and turn on the MFC. 9 From the Apple menu,
open the Chooser. 10 Click the Brother Laser icon. On the right side of the Chooser, select the MFC to which you want to print. Close the Chooser. The MFL-Pro Suite, Printer driver and Scanner driver have been
installed. To install Presto! PageManager, click the 11 Presto! PageManager icon and follow the on-screen
instructions. Presto! PageManager has
been installed and the installation is now complete. You can easily scan, share and organize photos
and documents using Presto!PageManager.
You'll have to use google.com to translate this because I don't speak Spanish, but I used it to translate your text into English.
What you're seeing is PostScript being output to a non-PostScript printer. Mac OS 9 LaserWriter driver prints only PostScript. Make sure you've downloaded the correct driver from HP, and then make sure you're selecting the HP driver in the Chooser.
Please let me know if this information helps or not.
not good. sounds like the printer memory got blasted, and stuck on number 9(remember the old Beatles White Album with that)?..at any rate, you may need to reset bios on pc and printer. had some power glitches lately, by chance?
