Unable to remove the backplate off Neff oven

Help! The element seems to have gone on my neff U1721N2 and I've found information online on how to replace this but I have no idea how to get the back plate off the main oven to get at the element. It doesn't seem to have any screws that can be undone with a screwdriver or allen key - just 4 circular fixings (one in each corner). Could anyone let me know how I should go about undoing these?

Thanks!

If there are no screws at the rear of the oven compartment that you can see to remove, then you will have remove the oven from the housing, and remove outer rear panel of oven to access the element.
Check the 4 fixings again, because on some ovens , they are not using coventional screws, they are are using what are called Torx screws, and you need a torx screwdriver or key to undo them.

Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

My oven keeps tripping the electric

It will be the ring element, short circuit. This is the element that runs around the fan behind the backplate in the oven. It can be replaced by isolating from the mains, remove the 4-6 screws hold the backplate on. remove the two screws on the element brabket and one screw holding the element in position at approx 4 o' clock. Be very careful removing the element at the bracket, ease it out very slolwly so as not to detach the spade connector and wiring. A replacement can be obtained from ebay, espares etc or neff direct via there website (link to spares shop). Make sure the wiring goes back on the new element as it came off the old one. Replace screws and backplate and it should be sorted.
Hope this helps

Display works ok, fan works ok, but no heat. Assume element has gone, can this be replaced from the inside the oven without removing unit from built in housing?

I've never worked with a Neff appliance before, but generally, a firm tug will remove the element and a replacement can be firmly pushed in and all systems are go after that. The built in does not have to be pulled out. I suggest you take a look at the owner's manual or call a repair shop in your area that services Neff. If they have the part, ask them if the element can be remove by simply pulling it out.

Please help Fan not working in Neff U1451

Hi, the fan is one part and the bulb another. They are not connected. If the bulb isn't working simply unscrew the bulb lens and replace the bulb. About the fan motor, sometimes they cease up because the build up of grease at the back of the oven. You can try to remove the insid back plate that covers the element and fan, and try to rotate the fan manually. Try to clean it and test again. Last resource, it needs a new fan motor.
Cheers

Neff B1432 oven element and fan not working

If the element has failed again in such a short time , then I would suspect that the fan is the culprit.
If the fan is not working, then the element overheats, and burns itself out.
The fact that the fan spins freely, proves nothing, as the fan can be still faulty.
The only way to prove if the fan is faulty, is to remove the oven from the housing, and remove the rear outer panel of oven,.test with a meter set to ac mains and test the fan motor terminals to see if there is power there when oven is set to heat, disconnect the element first. ,if there is ,and the fan is not running then the motor is faulty..
If there is no voltage there, then problem is elsewhere, and you will have to investigate furher.

Thanks.

Unable to remove the fan blade on the neff u1721 oven (too tight)

The nut is a left hand thread, so unscrew it clockwise to release it, hold fan blade as you are doing this. Tighten anti- clockwise.

Fan oven element - HEEELLLLPPPPP !

one element, but you will need to open the rear of the oven to access and remove the 3 screws holding the fan and with a little bit of push and shoving you will be able to remove the screw behind the fan be careful the screw does not get stuck behind the fan. Putting the new element in will require bending the securing bracket slightly but don't worry it will straighten when you replace the screw behind the fan; which is easier to replace than when you remove it

Can not remove element

Hi there. Dunno if you solved your problem but I had exactly the same. I did a bit of digging on this website and found the solution which worked. Basically, undo the three bolts holding the fan motor onto the back of the unit. This should allow enough play on the fan from the inside to wiggle (technical term) the bolt free and replace on the new element. Reposition and secure the motor. Hope this helps. Matt
