Help! How to uninstall client services for netware if it was never installed?

Hi, I have uninstall a program in my Windows XP and when I did a restart the windows was in classic view and I had to enter my password instead of having my usual welcome screen. I clicked on "Control Panel" and then "User Accounts", then I clicked on "change the way user log in", it showed an error message - "client services for netware is blocking.... Uninstall client services for netware and try again". I read in a forum that you need to uninstall it from your local area connection, I went there and I could not find it in the properties or in the properties of any of the other network connections. I could install it but it was not installed in my network connections. I consider myself a computer freak and I know windows XP very well but still I can't solve this issue. As you can see I spent too much time on this issue, if anyone has a solution for this problem or have any advice I will highly appreciate it!

Hi,

Please look at this technet article: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS05-046.mspx
and download the patch for XP.

Then I would suggest trying these instructions (they're for Trend Micro but I think it will work for your problem): http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/secadvisories/default6.asp?VName=(MS05-046)+Vulnerability+in+the+Client+Service+for+NetWare+Could+Allow+Remote+Code+Execution+(899589)

Give this a try...

Are you saying that you go to control panel and click user account then click on "change the way user log in" there is should two options. I always leave it alone. but if you want to change user name you can. But for windows xp home edition is basic, My computer is windows xp professional and it will works same as your issue. maybe you want to install XP Professional as long as your computer has 256 MB and up with hard drive should least 30 to 40 GB so it have enough space. it will go smooth... Myself I building my own computer and it is very fast than you imagine. LOL If you have more problem just click and let me know then I might teach you how to use netmeeting to allow me enter your computer and work on your computer then after it solve the problem but you will be watching while the mouse are moving while I work on your computer but you have to set up netmeeting and connect to my ip address..... after I finish work on your computer then I will disconnected your computer, be sure shut down netmeeting. if you need to disuss about your issue then call me at 1 866 327 8877 ask operator to direct dale at 360 750 7412. but you need to call operator first then give operatormy ph number ok
