When I turn it up, only the green light comes and stays for about 10 seconds, no display or sound. what can i do?

I guess your PSP is bricked. Have you done either of the following;
1.) Update PSP Firmware and interrupted it before it finished 2.) Installed a Custom Firmware (CFW) to play homebrew (games in Memory Stick)
If yes, it's certain that your PSP is bricked. There are easy ways to unbrick your PSP depending on your PSP version and MotherBoard. If you need help in unbricking your PSP, please give the following detail;
1.) Slim or Phat 2.) PSP Version (1000, 2000, 3000) 3.) MotherBoard (if available)
If you have known your MoBo to be a TA088v3, consider bringing it back to S0ny for MoBo replacement or have it replaced if you can buy one. Consider a new MoBo that is not a TA088v3 like TA085 or TA088v2 because these boards have recovery menu when installed with CFW.

Hello There, :) i've updated my PSP to version

you wont be able to play .iso files(games in the iso folder) because you updated to Sony's official firmware. but in order to play .iso files again you will have to hack you psp and make sure its running cfw(custom firmware).

How to upgrade the version of the psp slim

Either buy a game and install it with the update included with the disk,or go to settings,system update and choose Update via Internet,let it download the update,if when it's finished downloading it,it doesn't ask you whether you want to install it,go to system update again and choose Update via Media Storage it should tell you about you having an update there say yes to everything it should install it,when it's finished go to the games tab and go to memory stick and delete the update to give you some space back.

How to update version of psp

There are two ways to do this 1.For the latest version without having to use the internet,you need to buy one of the latest games then when you try to start it if your version is not high enough it will say ''An update is needed.Update now?'' say yes and follow it's given instructions.
2.You need the internet for this one.
Go to settings from the PSP homescreen,go to System Update you are given two choices Update via Internet and Update via Media Storage,choose Update via Internet it asks you a few questions on whether you want to update say yes to them all,then it should start downloading,when it has finished downloading (It might just ask you whether you want to install the update when it finishes downloading) go back to System Update and this time choose Update via Media Storage,it gives you some instructions and asks you to accept the license agreement then it will start installing,after it is installed go to games and Memory Stick and delete the update.
Good luck.

My sony psp 3000 has a version 5.51. how i can i hack it so it can play downloaded games?

The psp 3000 and psp go are designed specifically to prevent this from happening. With each new update you install onto these systems there is new preventative software to ensure that this is not possible. Don't get me wrong there are a few hacks out there for some of the older versions. But I would strongly suggest NOT to do this because like I said before, the new updates (with preventative software) can potentially corrupt the data on the psp when installing a new update and render it completely useless. Usually the hack prevents any new updates from installing at all. While the older games will play just fine. When you try to play a newer game, that needs this updated software and the hack prevents new software updates being installed, you can not play it. And who does not want to play the newest game that comes out. Putting a hack like that on the psp also voids the warranty. Unless you know really well how use a hack like this and uninstall/rewrite/re-install this hack every time an update occures you will find yourself without your psp sooner than you would like.

Why psp games cant be started?

Hi,

If you are planning on playing the psp games from the umd then i guess you should not be having any problems, but with the latest update installed on your psp most times games stored on previous versions won't load. You'll have to hack the current software version your are running on.

Hope this worked.

I cant play games from memory

Hi kalfan

What happened was that when you downgraded your PSP to -play game from your memory stick, that version was loaded onto your PSP for a reason. What you did now is install the latest firmware and that disabled you from playing games from your memory stick. You might have to get your PSP downgraded again with the older firmware version.

PSP wont play games

To play game on your memory stick you'll need Custom Firmware installed such as M33/OE on your PSP, else if you play a UMD. The last CFw Update is 3.71M33-3.

What is version on your PSP? (on PSP Menu, move across to the "Settings Menu". Scroll down, select to "System Settings" > "System Information" and you should see version of your PSP.)

Here's, how to install CFw Guides. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back a detail should you need additional information. ^_^
