Keyboard text keeps jumping

Hi I have had my laptop 6 months now. What was once an occasional blip (i put down to accidently touching wrong key) is now a real pain. When typing on the keyboard the curser keeps jumps so you end up typing in the wthis rong place. ( the previous text is as example) .

Is this a common problem? can it be solved and does my 12 month warranty cover it?

Exact same problem. The keyboard has a mind of it's own ans skips up and down while typing. Vista basic with Microsoft Office 2003 [Word, etc.]

Sorry but I have got exactly the same problem. I have reinstalled my Word and Excel software as at first I thought it was that. Whilst typing this the cursor highlight and area and removed it. Also when typing if I hit the spacebar to many times it moves the cursor downwards to the middle of the page even though its not the end of the document. I run on Vista and have used Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 it even does it in notes. Could turn off the touchpad but that's annoying also Fn+F7 all the time.

Stop screen from jumping up and down

I think what has been done is accidently magnified your screen slightly. To correct this hold down your ctrl key on your keyboard and move your finger on the trackpad back. Hope this helps.

On my laptop, the cursor jumps unpredictably to previously entered text.

The space bar 'contacts', internally are dirty or defective. You will probably need to replace the keyboard or seek from manufacturer a 'cleaning process ' for this keyboard.

Cursor/text keeps jumping about so i write in between words without intending too

First make sure your hand doesn't touch the laptop touch pad if you are using laptop . Then remove all temp files from computer. For that press windows key +R key so you can see run type in run '%temp%" without '" then press enter then remove all temp files type in run "prefetch" without "' then remove all prefetch files. Type in run "chkdsk /r' without "" then press enter then press 'y" then restart it then it will fix and recovers error on harddrive, also make sure there is not any jammed key on keyboard . Scan computer with updated antivirus. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

My blitz doesnt text

Try this. Touch Keypad simulates a wireless phone keypad on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols just as if you were using a wireless phone keypad. Touch Keyboard simulates a 20-key QWERTY (typewriter) keyboard on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols similar to the way you would using a QWERTY keyboard. To use Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard:  In a program, tap the Input Selector arrow, and then tap Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard. To type lowercase letters, tap the keys on the dial pad or keyboard. To type a single uppercase letter, tap the Shift key and then tap the corresponding key. To type all uppercase letters, tap the Shift key twice. To change back to all lowercase letters, tap again. To enter a space after the word, tap the Space key. To start a new line, tap the Enter key. To backspace and delete a single character in any input mode, press the Back key. To open the Symbol pad, tap the Symbol key. To change the input mode:  Tap the Input mode key to switch to a different input mode: XT9 (predictive), Multitap (abc), or Numeric (123).

Hope this helps, let me know if this works or if I can help you with anything else.

My cursor on my toshiba laptop keeps jumping when am typing

Ive seen this problem a few times, the problem is that your accidently or inadvertently touching the touch pad as you type. To fix this just disable the touchpad when your typing or put a piece of paper over it. To disable the touchpad it varies on different models but can normaly be done with a button near it, a FN and F1-8 key combo or through the touchpad driver on the task bar. Consult your manual for information on how to disable this.

Jumping cursor whilst typing on an acer aspire 5315

Is the touchpad active?
It is common that users accidently touches the touchpad while writing and this causes the cursor to "jump"...
Another possibility is that the "TAB" key is jammed...

Key off computer keyboard

Most of the time the keys are a pain to replace and if you do get it back on it is more prone to pop off again. If the computer is under warranty I would contact Acer and get the keyboard replaced. If not then search online especially Ebay for a replacement keyboard. Usually pretty cheap.
