Messages & Display Issues: The display on my phone reads "Locked" or "Keyguard"
If you see the word "Keyguard" on the display of your Kyocera phone, you may have activated the keyguard feature. Press button below "Keyguard," then press 123 or the "OK" key to unlock the Keyguard feature. The phone will display "Keyguard Disabled."
Some Kyocera phones also have the phone lock feature available. If the phone lock was activated, the default lock code is 0-0-0-0 (4 zeros). When your handset is programmed with a mobile number by your Mobile Service Provider, the default lock code will change to the last 4-digits of your mobile number. To change your handset lock code, you must go to the Security menu, then select Menu > Settings > Security > Current 4-digit lock code.
You can set up a security code to lock your Nokia 6288 keypad in case a thief tries to call from your stolen phone
Published on Mar 14, 2007
You can set up a security code to lock your Nokia 6280's keypad in case your phone opens in your pocket and calls one of your contacts, annoying them and potentially running up a huge bill.
The code will also stop a thief from using your stolen Nokia 6280 to run up a huge phone bill before you can alert your network provider.
To set the security code, click Menu > Settings > Phone > Security keyguard. You'll be prompted for the Security code. By default this is 12345. Enter this and press OK. Select On and click Select to see the message 'Security keyguard activated'.
Now when you slide your phone shut and press Lock, you'll see the message 'Keypad locked with security code'.
When you slide it open, you'll be prompted to enter the security code. Type your code and click OK to activate your keypad.
Of course, if any potential phone thieves are reading this, they'll now know the default security code is 12345.
To change the security code, go to Menu > Settings > Security > Access codes > Change security code. When prompted, enter your current security code and click OK. The enter your new security code (a PIN between 5 and 10 digits in length), click OK and enter the new code again to verify it. Click OK and you'll see the message 'Security code changed'. Hope this helps.
First, activate the Automatic Keyguard which locks the phone keypad after a time that you set:
Then set the Security Keyguard which will demand a code to unlock the phone:
Finally, your lock code is 12345 as standard. If you want to use the lock for security, you need to change the code to a personal code:
Menu>Settings>Security>Access codes>Change security code - then you need to enter the current code (12345) then enter your chosen code twice.
Each time you need to unlock the phone, you'll need your personal code. Be sure not to forget the code, as if you do you will have to get the phone reflashed at a Nokia service point which will wipe your personal data from the phone.
Keypad lock (keyguard) from page 29 in your manual: To prevent the keys from being accidentally pressed, select Menu, and press * within 3.5 seconds to lock the keypad. To unlock the keypad, select Unlock, and press *. To answer a call when the keyguard is on, press the call key. When you end or reject the call, the keypad automatically locks.
Security code from page 17 in your manual: The security code (5 to 10 digits) helps to protect your phone against unauthorized use. The preset code is 12345. To change the code and set the phone to request the code, see Security p. 80.
Hope this helps, let me know if I can help you with anything else. It would be very kind of you if this does work for you to please rate me or leave a short note. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time. JimmyC
On the front keypad, press the ok button until you have the option to select contact list. Scroll down that list until you see keyguard settings. Press ok to enter keyguard settings and then go to option 2 - unlock options. Select two step unlock. This will force the user to press "ok" and then "clr" in order to dial out. This has resolved the problem for me...Good luck.
I was about to sleep when i change the security code of my nokia 1112. I turn the keyguard on and i fell asleep. When i woke-up and try to use my nokia 1112 to call a friend, i press unlock then *, but in the LCD show's when i press unlock then security code. But i forget the new security code that i made. So I turned the automatic keyguard off and everytime i lock the keypad, i get the battery and turn it on again.
