No channels For some unforeseen reason one day we have lost all channels and i cant even pick any up manually?> now we have been quoted 1000 to fix that, but what would i be paying for that i cant do.....any help please??

Have you gone through all the usual checks? Do you have it set on the right channel,usualy channel 3. Is the proper input set for where your signal is coming from, air,componet or cable? Have you tried to have the set do an automatic rescan and setting of the channels? Is the set connected to any other box such as a cable box,HD reciever or Tivo? Could any of these be causing this? Try just the set itself without any other box connected to it.Is there any kind of reset button to clear itself and settings. Sometimes they have to be "unplugged" for a minute or two to reset themselves,not just turned off and on.If nothing works call the manufacturer and ask them for help. Somewhere,probably in the back of your manual you'll find a 800 number you can call and ask for more help.There just might be a solution to this that they can tell you how to do.Hope you get it straightened out.

These things are much like computers. Turn it off and let it clear itself -- wait a minute or two -- and turn it on. It might reboot. Don't pay $1000. I saw a comprable 42 inch plasma on "Tiger Direct" yesterday for $699.
