Problem was very bad on my Acer laptop with realtek sound system. I have found it is due to a timing issue. If I log in to quickly before the drivers have all fully loaded, I get no sound card detected. I have to wait until the log in screen appears, and all disk activity stops THEN log in to windows. Works now every time.

Select your operating system
Check your OS by right clicking on my computer and go to properties
It should be up the top e.g. Microsoft XP Professional
You might be selecting Vista 32 instead of 64

Hope this helped you out

Hi im having acer aspire 5920 laptop... the problem is on boot time its taking 4-5 restarts attempts to start properly. suddenly 4-5 restart attempts. and afterwards no sound also in laptop. Im trying to...

When you get it to boot, run CHKDSK/F or Scandisk straight away to try and fix any errors before you find you are unable to get to your files anymore.
Make a backup of your data before it is too late!

Crystal eye web cam not found on aspire 5920

Hi,

Acer aspire has inbuilt web camera and therefore will work only if the correct drivers are installed. Please uninstall the drivers first from control/panel/add remove programs. Next reboot the system and then go ahead with the installation.

Acer aspire 5920 mic issues

I was able to solve this by downloading the REALTEK R2.17 driver directly from the the REALTEK download page and installing it:

No it recognizes the mic when inserted on the frontal jack and let it work.

The file is called: WDM_R217.exe

Default message when logging on

This is normal, this is a driver loading for your realtek card. Sound I believe. I think what's happening is that it's not being done in the background as it normally would on perhaps an XP system. Also remember that vendor drivers and programs don't always work perfectly with Windows.
It's nothing to worry about, if your sound is good, then it's doing what it should.
I hope that gives you some ease of mind.
Caid.

No Sound being installed

Most Acers use RealTek for sound/audio....As well as other utilities that are readily available at the Acer Uk site. Below is the url for those utilities....

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5680.html

Download the Audio/RealTek....choose next on installation...then if prompted...restart...
The RealTek panel should show on your taskbar. If not, go to start, all programs, then to real tek.

This should solve your sound problems. If not, please let me know and we'll get this working for you..

Thanks
