i think it's the button cell that's CR1616 that's hidden when your battery is in the camcorder. Remove the battery to reveal that little plate to replace your button cell. It functions properly just that time and date might not be recorded.

Connect the camcorder to the computer with the data cable for the specific camcorder.
Then you can find the computer detects the camera .
You can see the camera partition in the my computer option
Then click the camera partition and paste the videos in the camera's hard disk .

My Canon MV940 has indicatate condensation ,i have

Hello

Thank you for using
FixYa for your problem

Not sure why you put it in a airtight plastic bag as it will keep the moisture in it. open it all and put in the hot water cupboard, the heat can help eveoparate the moisture

Otherwise your camera is faulty. It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Problem with driver downloading

This is silly. The link is for driver updaters and searches for the cd to update the software. If the cd is lost this solution is of little use. How do you get the actual driver without a cd?

I was never given the software for my JVC GZ-MG20AA HDD camcorder. When I tried to get it off Harvey Norman they said to contact JVC, of which has the worst support services, thats if you can get through.

Please help as I have very valuable footage to save on my HDD.

thanks

The error message is because, either
1. the disc was initialised on another camcorder, or maybe a PC, or
2. The disc has a recording on it in a different TV system (PAL v SECAM).

From the above, it may be you're using the same disc in two camcorders. To be sure of seeing what's on your disc you need to keep it with the same camcorder from 'initialise' to 'finalise' .

To be able to see the disc on a PC you need to finalise it on the camcorder. There's no other way to get to see your work on a PC.

Unfortunately I think you've lost your recordings this time.

Problem downloading to PC

The camcorder was connected to one of my PC's 2 front-panel FW jacks. These are split off of a single internal FW connector on a FW/USB2 PCI card. When I connected the camcorder to the single rear FW jack, it worked. The PC
recognized the camcorder, and never lost recognition of it, unlike with the front-panel jacks, where it was recognized, but then was lost within seconds. I'm guessing that either the front-panel jacks are not working properly, there's a loose or weak connection somewhere, or splitting the single internal FW connector in 2 weakens the signal to the point where the
PC won't consistently recognize some FW devices.

In any case, I was able to capture my first 2 hour tape w/o a hitch. 1 down,
29 to go... ;-)

This was their problem  goes back to 2005

I'm trying to digitize videos from some old Hi8 tapes onto my PC using the A/D pass-through ability of a Sony DCR-TRV310 Digital8 camcorder that I borrowed. I tried this on my office XP Pro PC today with a standard 6-4 pin Firewire cable, and it worked fine using Microsoft Movie Maker (the latest
version on SP2). But when I tried to do this on my home PC (also XP Pro and running SP2), it only recognized the camcorder for a few seconds, then it disappeared from Device Manager.

Is there any reason this is happening? I went to the Sony site to see if I needed to download newer drivers, but there aren't any for this camcorder. I tried another FW cable, but that didn't help. Asking Device Manager to scan for new hardware doesn't help. I'm kind of stumped here. This worked on one
PC (as well as an OSX iMac), but not another PC.

Any clues?

Thanks,
