Re: LG TV LCD 47LF65 makes a strange noise
It should make a little noise, but if it is annoying then it is probably an issue - this is most likely the power being reduced to the inverters when the birightness is turned down. Could be a noisy coil on your power board or a capacitor may be going bad and changing value. I would look for any swollen capacitors (a bump on top, bursted or swollen sides) on the power board.

You're discussing about the fault "smeared picture". If so, the T'Con board to this TV should be checked. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Thats the Inverter board. Your model used several different types which are not interchangeable. You can get the correct Inverter Board for your model by contacting the guys over at www.tvrepairworld.com
The TV usually hums when the backlight setting is too low. So turning
it up should get rid of the problem. To do this please follow these
1. Turn the TV on.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote, located right below the channel changing button.
3. Press the down direction button, located at the middle of the remote. Press that button until the backlight is highlighted.
4. Press the right direction button until the backlight is at 100.
5. Press the OK button and then the Exit button until you get back to your picture.
it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.
I Have the same problem, LG 32" , LC2D a couple of work arounds that work are
1) - never unplug the mains plug
2) - i noticed it does this when the clock time is --:-- , i find that switching to digital tv can stop this,
however these are only tempory fixes and the problem re surfices, as i have found out after having no problem for 12 months, i have accidently unplugged the mains, and now the tc keep turning itself off,
This might not work for you, but Syntax LCD tvs have a similar problem straight out of the box. To fix it, I had to turn the backlight brightness to full brightness, at which point, the buzzing went away. You might give that a try!
