The print head alignment to your platen is out of adjustment. This sort of issue is best left to a field tech. It involves adjusting a set screw on the left side of the platen pride profile. If you think you can find and adjust this set screw go for it. That's about all it comes to.

Sometimes there are other issues involved and not just this. So, that is why I recommend seeking out a field tech who has experience in typewriters and impact printers. If you can do this, I say again, go for it. Its not rocket science.

Best of luck in this.

It sounds to me like clogged nozzles, if this is something that has been a recent problem. after doing your cleaning, are you running a nozzle check to see if you're missing any nozzles? Another this that may not be readily apparent is that by running the cleaning cycle, followed by a nozzle check, then if needed the next cleaning cycle, if needed, will be a stronger cycle, as long as you do the nozzle check in between cleaning cycles. You can do this 3 times in succession, each cycle being stronger than the last. If this fails, try a power cleaning, and/or the sscl cleaning, and try another nozzle check.

Try not to turn off your printer if you don't need to, keep the printer level.

    Hope this is helpful--good luck.

Faint line when printing a letter

hi this may be the toner roller or supply drum for the toner cartridge . if it scratched or worn it leaves marks on the drum or the roller, which in turn fills with toner and leaves an imprint on the page, you can check these , just remove the toner cartridge and look at the green roller and also look at the black roller, it might be a simple case of changing it or cleaning it....hope this helps

When printing, as thepaper is being transported up the printer, try pressing the right door panel of the printer firmly with your hand. If the colours are much improved then the printer requires a new Transfer roller.
1. Open the Right Door.
2. Remove the Transfer Roller while opening the shaft holder (white color) levers found at the left and right shaft ends of the Transfer Roller to unlock it. Lift out the roller.

First I would suggest performing any head alignment functions with your printer's menu to be sure you have the stepper motor feed adjusted properly. Use the paper you are currently printing on for this procedure so that the thickness of that paper is factored in.
If you stil see the banding after doing this, you can use the Advanced Media Control button under Printer Settings in ColorBurst to fine-tune the paper feed adjustment. Print out the "Media Advance.tif" target (located in the ColorBurst/images & Targets folder) to use as a guide. For white bands, you'll need to enter a negative number (to shorten the paper feed).
