The PC does boot, yet I am greeted with an Intel error on startup and have to press F1 to continue. The motherboard supports previous models of the CPU and the information on the system properties screen is as it should be. It seems a little confusing

  • burglarised Jan 07, 2009

After pressing F1, my PC boots up. Yet I cannot get rid of this message until I've pressed it.

  • burglarised Jan 07, 2009

Sorry, I forget the error it displays. I shall update once I get home

  • burglarised Jan 07, 2009

Error created is "Intel CPU Ucode Loading error"

  • elmer_alesna May 11, 2010

I did not run the OS first because of the Error...but when i get entered at the BIOS Setting the processor has been detected. He detected that my CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz.

And now i wonder why there's still an error unknown CPU detected appears during i boot up the Computer...It says Unknown CPU detected, BIOS update is necessary to unleash its full power...

Can anyone help me decide if this is a motherboard problem? or it could be fix by BIOS update? I really need your help...Thanks a lot...

Doesn't boot correctly?

If the CPU isn't supported, in my experience, the pc doesn't boot at all. If this is the case, you will have to buy a new MB to support your CPU. Sorry.

This came up because you changed a major component on M/board
I think you need to reset BIOS to default and go from there checking and changing settings in BIOS one at a time until you have the speed you want etc

What is the best cpu in the ratio of performance:price wise for a ASUS P5VD2-MX SE Motherboard???? Because i want to upgrade from my Intel Celeron-D 3.46 GHz and i been looking at the core 2 duo's and...

I've haved used this particular mobo quite a few times and must say it's quite a reliable one . ( being a ASUS it would be.)

The best Performance vs Price rating from the best 1 to 3 in my opinion would be :

1)Pentium Dual Core E2160(1.8GHz, 800FSB, L2 1MB, rev.L2)
2)Core 2 Duo E4600 (2.4GHz,800FSB,L2:2MB,65W,rev.M0)
3)Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.40GHz,1066FSB,L2:4MB,rev.B2)

But the choice would ultimately depend on the application and what you use the comp for but i'm sure for most applications the No.1 choice would be adequate.

I've had many "happy" responses from customers with the same exact combinations.
Just make sure you have the latest BIOS before you swap out the old proc to the new one.

Ucode error

The bios needs to load a patch table that supports your processor. Go to the ASUS website and ensure that processor capatibility with your MB, and if there is a BIOS update for it.
