    I have the same problem and have not been happy with the unit at all. There should be a recall of these sets.

Hello
the most common cause is the DM Module
there are capacitors that need to be replaced in the supply circuits
this is not a easy task and should be handled by some one that has experiance with this i would recomend finding a compatent servicer in your area that is capable and expect to 250 to 325 as a cost

the moduel can be exchanged verses repair but it exchanges at around 745.00
so its recomended to repair and your set should return to normal

Hello,

I've worked on lots of these sets. Some lamp failure problems found:

#1. Busted lamp. Only had one that internal bulb broke. Check lamp first.

#2. Wear UV glasses for this test. This test should be done by a service personal.
Remove front panel and remove lamp door. Bypass switch by holding door swith closed with something that fits in whole. After green timer light stops flashing, hit the power button. Notice if lamp turns on at all for a moment or not.

If not, replace lamp and/or lamp ballast board, (if a known good lamp is being used).

If lamp does light up momentary before shutting down, then you must remove DM module and go through all electrolytic capacitors. Also, do not ingore the signal module. It too will have bad electrolytic capacitors from time to time, and have found on some sets that it was only the signal module and not the DM, however is recomended to go through both modules.

The most likely cause is lamp failure this need replacing and they are quite expensive.

Most likely, you need to replace your DLP bulb. The one that comes with your TV will last a few years max. The replacements seem to only last about a year. D:

Timer light did not stop flash

Lamp is not the issue. It most likely is a your DM card. You most likely have some capacitors that need to be replaced. This is a terrible issue with this unit. Do a google search for "DM" and the model number and you should see hundreds of posts.

if the light just constantly blicks green and doesnt stop. You will need the" V26 DM repair kit " which will usually repair that issue. You can get the repair kit at the following link which includes the replacement capacitor and instructions

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
