Well the company that made emachines at that time (Trigem) went bust so no support from the makers....

Best thing to do is search google for a dismantle guide or dissasembly or somthing like that...

Sorry not the most helpful answer in the world...

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I Have emachine laptop password lost not able to login. password on bios no idea. need to get a way in all I have found not working from on line

If you have your windows cd and do not have anything on the computer that you need. I would suggest reinstalling your windows run it as a boot cd and follow instructions from there should wipe the passwords so you can put new passwords on when windows is reinstalled it will be a clean slate from there.

Hi, I have an Advent laptop that shutsdown after 10 minutes. Appears to over heat and I can't hear any fans running? Any advise? Regards Steve

Take a can of air and where the air vents are, blow alot of air into them to make sure the vents are free of dust and dirt, that can cause laptops to overheat.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to take apart the laptop and clean out the CPU fan so its clear of dust and dirt.

My emachines m6811 screen shows a poor quality

Sounds like the pc is set to a low pixel setting, try going to properties and adjust display settings.
ie. Right click on desktop image, click on Properties. WIndow will pop up, click on SETTINGS tab and adjust Screen Resolutions and/or Color Quality. That should make the change. Sometimes programs installed changes those settings. Good Luck!

Wireless won't work after sytem restore
This is the manufacturer driver download page, you may need to update the wifi netwrok card driver, probably the Broadcom file, if you got to the "Control Panel" and goto the system icon and double click, then click on the hardware tab, then deviceManager, and see if any Devices have any "Issuse" (anything except for a "+" sign next to the catagory. then install the corresponding driver.

When I turn on my e-machines M6811 laptop I get 2 short POST beeps; no screen display. What does it mean?

Two beeps usually indicates a memory problem, try re-seating the RAM. You may need to purchase new RAM.
Good luck.
