Barcode reader I am having trouble with a barcode reader I purchased from Keenzo earlier last fall. It is not reading the whole barcode number, about one out of 7 or 8 scans. If the barcode number is 00014567, it might read 00000014 or 00000001 and sometimes it puts the letter J in there! It has done this on different types of barcodes, new ones, old ones, ones generated by different companies, etc. I have tried cleaning the glass, but that doesn't seem to help. Is there something I can do to it without sending it in? Is is still under warranty? MS330

    I have Unitech Barcode Reader MS331-1G Scanner. It will read the barcode, but I don't know where the reading is going. I have a billing company I need it to go to and also Quickbooks 2008.

    I use a Unitech MS331-1 scanner to scan my book barcodes. The scanner works fine in the morning, but in the afternoon it will not scan the patron barcodes. Please tell me why this is? Is it getting hot or something.

This is a setting issue of your barcode scanner, the only way to solved the issue is to find the manual and look for the settings that are most likely what you need to display and send data.

Scanner won't scan library barcodes.

The barcode reader is something that the backup software typically uses to identify which tape it is dealing with.
So typically your backup software can already natively read the barcode and therefor you don't need any other software.
The linked barcode reader is probably for reading a barcode that was provided via a picture (from a scanner or camera). This has nothing to do with the barcode reader that can be part of a tape library. NET UPC Barcode Reader

No signal at all

Place the cursor in the text box where barcode number should appear.
Place a barcode in front of the reader and see whether it supplies the barcode.
If this does not happen, see whether you need to supply power/batteries.
Read the manual for instructions.
If nothing helps, let us know with details of the barcode reader.

I have qs2500-2100 barcode reader , it's original cable is thru keyboard serial connector , i put a cable to convert it from serial keyboard connector to PS2 , the barcode reader can read the barcode and...

man. do a workaround. if it works.

go to the barcode machine website and check how to make it factory rest not by pressing reset button but by downloading and printing a paper which contains barcode on it.

u just have to print it and then use your barcode scanner to read the barcode on it. that will reset the device to factory settings

Tsstcorp dvd+-rw ts-h653a will not read in windows explorer nor burn DVDs

If you have verified the "power" and "data" connections, then it must be "dead".

Spend $40 to purchase a new CD/DVD reader/writer.
This is much cheaper than paying a technician $50/hour to try to "trouble-shoot".

Qx3 as a barcode reader

I believe that the QX3 has too much magnification to be used as a barcode reader. It wouldn't be able to image the whole barcode, even at the lowest 10X setting. Try finding an old CueCat instead.

VB With MC9090S

Hello,
If you are willing to use VB.NET, then it will be easy. You would need the Symbol EMDK. With that and VS2008 (Express should be fine as well), you only need few coding steps:

1) Add reference to dlls
Symbol.dll and Symbol.Barcode.Dll

2) Finder a scanner
s = Symbol.Barcode.Device.AvailableDevices.First()

3) make a reader
r = New Symbol.Barcode.Reader(s)

4) add data
d = New Symbol.Barcode.ReaderData(1, 1024)

5) enable laser
r.Actions.Enable()

6) enable reading
r.Actions.Read(nrd)

7) add handler
AddHandler r.ReadNotify, AddressOf r_ReadNotify

8) read data in event
msgbox(d.Text)

That is all there is too it. Good day.

Ms9535 bt not reading barcodes.

I'm using the same Barcode reader, the Metrologic MS9535 VoyagerBT.

The brief humming noize is called a "Rasbery tone" in the manual. It means that the barcode reader is not configured to read that kind of barcode, a barcode Code if you will.

There are many types of barcodes so you have to go to the Metrologic Website and get the Barcode Configuration tool to configure your barcode reader to read the type of codes you will be using.

Alternatively there is a book with configuration barcodes you can scan to configure your barcode reader manually.
