Question about T-Mobile Sidekick ID Cellular Phone

Sidekick Id screen.

My Sidekick Id's screen is not lighting up, but the buttons lights up. I did went to settings and changed the brightness to 100%. But still no light showing on the screen, but i can still see pictures etc, but not at night. In the dark i cant see nothing except my buttons. How do I fix it?

At a t mobile company they have extra sidekick screens tell them your problem they will fix it they will wrap it for you or they put it on for you there

Sidekick id charger light comes on but phone wont the screen wont turn on but charger light is on


Sounds like you unit is not charging. The Sidekick ID's are notorious forthat. If you have a friend that has a sidekick ID or Sidekick 3, see ifyou can try their battery to make sure you phone is working ok.

If so, your best option is to get an external charger that has a sparebattery slot That way you can charge the battery outside the phone!They run about 25-30 dollars on ebay. an extra battery is a good idea so you can have one charger at all times.

Check your backlight settings are good,
This will be in the display settings.

The screen light is not working

Bad news, the backlight is probably blown on you sidekick ID. You can replace it fairly easily if you can find a replacement.

I found this guide online.
Please let me know if this works!

"1) Insert the ATT SIM card into the back of the T-Mobile Sidekick ID (it should be located behind the battery).

2) Turn on the Sidekick ID, wait for the screens to load.

3) When the screen says "Waiting for Activation", hold the top left button (the "Menu" button with the three lines) on the Sidekick ID and hold the letter "L" on the QWERTY pad at the same time. After a few seconds, let go of the buttons.

4) If Step 3 is done correctly, the Sidekick should be directed to the jumpscreen and display all of the Menu's of the Sidekick ID.

No backlight


A couple things to try:

1st check the backlight settings

Turn on Backlighting and Control Brightness To use your device in dark environments, enable the automatic backlighting feature:
  1. From the Jump screen, press MENU t02003-15.gif then select Settings > Battery & Display.

  2. In the second group box, select the Turn on backlight when using device check box.

  3. Highlight, then select the Brightness slider to open it for editing. Roll the TRACKBALL right to increase brightness; roll the TRACKBALL left to decrease brightness. After you've made the adjustment, press the TRACKBALL to exit edit mode. t02007-55.jpg

  4. Select the length of time you want backlighting to stay on from the Turn off after pop-up menu.

  5. To use the device's light meter while the backlight is on, select the Use ambient light sensor check box.

  6. Press JUMP t02003-14.gif to return to the Jump screen and save your setting.
Now, when you press any button or key, or flip open the screen, backlighting will turn on for the set amount of time. Note that as long as you press a key or button before the set time elapses, the backlight will stay on.
Tips:
  • Even if you have not selected automatic backlighting, you can turn on backlighting at any time by pressing MENU t02003-15.gif + JUMP t02003-14.gif . The backlight will remain on for the time specified in the Backlight Turn off after pop-up menu.

  • When in key guard mode, you can turn on the backlight by pressing the RIGHT SHOULDER t02003-66.gif button.
If it still does not work, then you can try resetting the flex cable to the lcd.

Reseat the SidekickFlex cable

If that doesn't fix it then a new lcd assy will take care of the issue. they run about 45 dollars on ebay.

Sidekick iD screen white


take out the battery blow it 15 times then blow the back of the phone 15 times your hardest then out the battery back into place and then the loading screen would show thats what happen to me i hope it works good luck

Is the screen white or black?

If it is white you may be able to fix it, black maybe not.
The following instruction for a sidekick 3 but it is the same for a sidekick ID. Just reseat your lcd instead of installing a new one.
