WHEN SWITCHED ON MICROWAVE RUNS FOR 22 SECS AND THEN CUTS OUT ....

....our 27 month old microwave has suddenly developed this fault. No matter how many times you switch on you get almost precisely 22 secs before it switches itself off. Presumably some sort of cut off switch. In that 22 secs it does not seem to heat up any contents. All lights, turntable etc all working ok (until it switches off). Any clues gratefully accepted. Thanks.

Lamona microwave fault fault. When we close door, light and turntable working automatically but not heating. Please note unit is 27 months old

When you close the oven door, some micro switches are working. One of them is blocked. Check and replace the malfunctioning switch.

Stops after 2 seconds

Stopping after 2 secs usually means the inverter or magnetron have failed, or worse case scenario both. A microwave can be storing up to 4000 volts even when switched off, so if you're unsure of what you are doing I would suggest that you get an expert to look at it. BSH is the repair section of NEFF 0844 872 8999, the offer a repair plan, where you pay a set amount (Approx 170 pound) which covers your first repair and any further repairs for a year and you can pay by direct debit monthly to spread the cost. The inverter is approx 200 pound and the magnetron is about the same, so it's a pretty good deal as to replace the whole oven is 600-700 pound.

I have a Panasonic combination microwave, NNA753. The microwave has stopped working. When I put it on with 1/2 cup of water in it, it runs for 27 secs and then switches off. I have tried doing this...

Magnetron fault. This requires service through an authorised Panasonic service department as it is extremely specialised due to the type of technology employed with this machine.
The unit is not heating in the time set by the sensor.

Microwave starts as normanl but cuts out after 5 seconds on all settings?

sounds as either inverter or magnetron is faulty difficult to diagnose although when mag fault usually runs for about 22 secs inverter fails sooner around 5 secs.

Microwave settings switch off after 22 secs/30 secs

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter, controller, magnetron, or a bad connection from one or the other.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

Works for approx 30 secs then it cuts off with a error Code F7 message.

Assuming yours is a model KHMS2050SSS0, here is what the technical sheet says about the F7 error code:

1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.
3. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
4. Check cooling fan operation
5. Check the magnetron.
6. Check P65 connection on the relay control board.
7. Check the P56/P66 connection between relay board and relay control board.
8. Check wiring to the 1200W inverter and control system. See “Checking Inverters.”
9. Check operation of all interlock switches.
10. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
11. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
12. Check voltage at 4903-1 on relay board. If it is 120, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
13. Replace inverter.
14. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
15. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
16. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
17. Replace relay control board.
18. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
19. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
20. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
21. Check for reversed plug connection on controls or loose wiring.
22. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
23. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

(This troubleshooting guide presumes one does not know how to test electronic components. That's why they say to replace and part and check it again.)

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

If yours is a different model number, please reply back.
