No power to driver side window and power lock

I have no power to window regulator, tried connecting motor to battery works fine, but I can't control window and lock through the control switch. I although could still control the passenger side window and lock. is it due to bad ground wiring or is it the power control box located in the drivers door. I tried changing the power control box but still won't work any easy fix....

Most likely you have a short in wiring harness, best thing to do is remove drivers side kick panel that cover next to your left foot while driving you should see a group of 15 to 20 wires wraped together that goes to the drivers door. once you find this grab a test light attach to a good ground remove some of the tape so you can see the wires check to see which ones have power by poking tester into the wires, write down the color code for wires that light up, then pull the power control box and check those same color coded wire when you find the bad one you can run a new wire from where you first checked it to just before the control box you can either solder or crimps then tape it up then the rest of the harness that you opened up as well. I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.

Sounds like your gears are striped out inside the motor. I had the same problem on a car of mine. I just went to a parts store and bought the gear and took the motor apart and fixed it myself. It cost 18 dollars with tax.

SOURCE: Camry 1996 automatic power lock doen't work, but windows work.

if you can here relays when unlocking/locking check for power at door lock actuators inside doors, if you have power on lock/unlock and good earth from connector actuators are faulty.
if no power on test light when operating check output from central door lock module while operating, none coming out of module then it might need replacing.
check 30Amp power fuse for main relay under bonnet (which goes to pin 8 white/blue on module)and 10Amp gauge fuse in cab(pin 1 blue/red on module),pin 15 is also power when relay is on(red/blue) with test light, and module/ actuators.
check outputs from module pin 3 & 4
blue/red
blue/black
that go to door locks

it's probably a broken wire in the door jam on either the drivers sid or the passengers side.check the wires where the fold wher the door opens and closes

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.

The odds of both switches going bad at the same time is high, remove the door panel and tap on the window motor with a hammer, while trying the switches. I may have jammed up. Ground a test light and check the motor connection, while trying the switch, power will show on either side depending on if it turning up or down

Power lock and power windows dont work can`t find fuse

Number 21 is for the door lock fuse and relay, its a 10 amp fuse.
Number 7 is for the body control module, its a 10 amp fuse.

The fuse panel is under back seat.If all fuses checked out ok,then its faulty drivers door module called as DDM.

Hi, there is only one relay for all of the windows, so that is not the problem. The likely problem is the switch. I recommend you test the switch using an ohmmeter.
In the case of the door lock, that problem may be a failed lock motor. I recommend you apply power directly to the lock motor to see if it works. If it does, check the switch. If not, replace the motor.

Is there a fuse for the drivers side window? the window wont go down. all other windows work

Hi there,

All power windows are controlled by the same fuse.

Therefore, the most logical problem will lie either with the driver's window 'switch' or the driver's window regulator 'motor'.

If you know how to remove the internal door panel to gain access to the 2-wire connector on the regulator motor, undo the connector and using suitable jumper wires, connect each plug wire to a spare 12v battery - this should operate the motor. Then, reverse the wires on the battery and the regulator motor should move the opposite way.

If the motor operates "continuously" in both directions when connected directly to battery power, then the fault lies in the driver's master window switch.

If the motor fails to move "continuously" (ie it stops part way) in either direction, then the motor on the window regulator is faulty and should be replaced with a known good motor.

Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. If it goes up and down it's probably the switch which may just need a clean on the terminals.
