Question about Ulead Videostudio 8 for PC

Open Question

EasyCap in place of WebCam

I need to input composite video as a webcam into a Flash .swf. as part of a year long project underway. The flash program works great with any USB webcam, EasyCap works in windows Movie Maker and Ulead's incl. program, but won't work with the Flash! Flash's setup "sees" the easyCap, but won't make the green light come on, thus no video. ..
To make things even more bizarre, if I open the .swf in Internet explorer, it works!! Problem is, it needs to be embedded inside another flash that's a projector (exe) or at least in FlashPlayer. The browser can't be used.
If anyone even has an inkling of what the problem/protocol/whatever might be, I'd be forever grateful

SOURCE: EasyCap Video Capture

Hi
I had the same problem. No picture and no sound.
Here is what I did to solve it.

1. I Un-installed the software and restarted the computer.
2. Placed the installation CD (that came with the product) back in the CD drive.
3. Click on "Install Driver" (this only installs the USB 2 drivers so that the computer can see the device)

Make sure you do not attach the Easycap Device before you have installed the USB Driver (as above).

4. Once USB Driver has been installed then plug in the Easycap USB Device, windows should then detect the new device, to make sure:-
5. Right Click "My Computer" "Properties" "Hardware" "Device Manager" check "Imaging Device" (which is where my STK1150 Driver was installed) and make sure it has no yellow exclamation mark next to it.

6. Go back to CD and "install the Uplead Software", you then have to Restart the computer.

Once all installed you can then connect your external device VHS Player/Camcorder etc to the Easycap device, using the Red/Yellow/White leads.

I like many before me, tried and I tried to get the image to play on the software "Capture" screen but all to no avail, I was pulling my hair out, I wasted two days on it, I finally decided that this product was a total load of rubbish and I had wasted my money and it had to go.

Then a major break through, some smarty pants made the comment about INPUTS & OUTPUTS, my prayers along with many others could have been answered ??....

I had actually plugged the Red/Yellow/White leads into the INPUT terminals of the external VHS Player, when they should be plugged into the OUTPUT terminals of the external VHS Player/Camcorder.

On a Camcorder the RED/Yellow/White terminals are usually Output terminals but on a VHS Player they are usually always Input only !!....

I tried running my Camcorder through the software and Hey Presto that worked a treat.

So in order to get my VHS to play through the software I ended up having to buy a Scart OUT (very important "OUT") Red/Yellow/White adapter (see link for product image)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=scart%20out&source=15&SD=Y

Once all connected I pressed play on the VHS Player and I have to say that nearly fell off my chair "IT WORKED - IT WORKED - IT WORKED"

SOURCE: EasyCAP Video Adapter with no video

Ok, here is what is going on. The default video setting in control panel> scanners and cameras> syntek 1160 is pal-b it should be NTSC_M. Right click on the Syntek 1160 and click Video Decoder Property. Change it to NTSC_M from Pal. Do this with the unit plugged in or it wont be displayed in the Scanners/Cameras options box. Right away the signal line should rear 1 from 0 with video hooked up. Keeping that setting to stay is my issue right now. I was so excited to figure it out, I had to post. I was about ready to throw the unit away. Its a program driver error. Hope this helps!!!

Please check the solution I got from the following link http://www.easycap.co.uk/

The following error “no input signal or signal is unclear” is a common problem when you first start using the easycap.
This message comes up after everything is connected and the drivers are loaded your trying to capture some video with the Ulead software, but there is no picture is on the display.
I initially had the same problem when i connected up my VCR to transfer some VHS videos, I thought i had the right cable SCART to COMPOSITE VIDEO, which seemed like it should work, but this cable was for VIDEO IN, I needed SCART to COMPOSITE VIDEO OUT, i quickly purchased a SCART to Phono + SVHS Adapter which has input/output switchable, Once this was connected the Ulead software picked up the signal.

I have got Easycap 2.0 and a video player connected to my laptop computer running Windows Vista. However all I see in the window where the video output is supposed to be is my webcam. I am guessing it has...

you have to go into hardware device manager driver menu in the control panel and find your internal laptop webcam in the list and temporarailly disable it. (dont click uninstall just disable) Then the ezcap usb camera input will work. I did this on HP9000 series laptop with internal camera and vista. When you done using the usb cam input go back to the hardware device manager and enable your internal cam again.

good luck

Can't ope a protected movie error while opening

You may need to reinstall the Flash Player. The copy that you have might have been corrupted.
Try the below task and i am cent% sure it would work.

Do you have jv16 Power Tools installed? There's a link below if you
don't. With that program you can go into Registry Tools > Registry
File Types and disassociate .swf files with Windows by removing it.
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=jv16
You should uninstall Flash Player, they have a utility for that
here:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl.../playerfaq.htm
Reinstall the latest version of Flash Player and hopefully it will
automatically reassociate itself with .swf files.

Enjoy the game where name is game... ;)

how to create your own .swf video and post up on internet.

SWF info:

The Flash File Format (SWF) was designed as a very efficient delivery format that was initially designed to deliver vector graphics and animation over the Internet. It was designed to meet the following goals:

On-screen Display—The format is primarily intended for on-screen display and so it supports anti-aliasing, fast rendering to a bitmap of any color format, animation and interactive buttons.

Extensibility—The format is a tagged format, so the format can be evolved with new features while maintaining backward compatibility with older players.

Network Delivery—The files can be delivered over a network with limited and unpredictable bandwidth. The files are compressed to be small and support incremental rendering through streaming. SWF is a binary format and is not human readable like HTML. Macromedia Flash (SWF) uses techniques such as bit-packing and structures with optional fields, to minimize file size.

Simplicity—The format is simple so that the player is small and easily ported. Also, the player depends upon only a very limited set of operating system functionality.

File Independence—Files can be displayed without any dependence on external resources such as fonts.

Scalability—Different computers have different monitor resolutions and bit depths. Files work well on limited hardware, while taking advantage of more expensive hardware when it is available.

Speed—The files are designed to be rendered at a high quality very quickly.

Don't want to do any code work?

if you really want to share a video or Dvd moive and want to post up on the internet, or send the SWF file to your friends through mobile device, the simplest way is to encode the video to .SWF first

I can't open videos requiring flash player eventhough i've already installed it

If you have Adobe flash player on your computer and you get the message on youtube to download the latest version of Adobe or turn on your Java in place of the video you want to watch, then look at your toolbar at the top of the screen and if there is a pink bar that says the website wants to run an Add On for Adobe flashplayer then click on it and select Allow Add On or Blocked content and the video should run fine.
