Plug an external speaker in the back of radio & see if you can hear anything. Also, you may want to take bottom speaker panel off & make sure the 2 wires coming off speaker are plugged in to the back rightside of radio. These things I would check first.
I've just brought on too, I thought the same thing, have to use headphones or hook it up to a speaker otherwise I strain to hear anything. Was also disappointed to find no Media Controller software pre-installed. Overall love this portable computer.
There has to be separate cord for the speakers. Look for an Audio port on the back of the monitor. It looks like a small hole and should be marked "Audio". Connect this to the Audio out on the PC using a cable with two Audio jacks at both ends.
It is possible, but you may run into a problem with the amplification to be able to hear the speaker. Without knowing exactly what your setup is the best I can say is to attempt to hook them up to your headphone jack and see how well they work. If you don't hear anything, you need an amplifier. If you hear a distorted sound, but volume is not an issue, use the line out jack and see if it is any better.
The Camera has no speaker therefore you can't hear anything. I presume that when you play the recording back through your computer you should hear it through the computer's speakers.
