Question about Wacom Bamboo Fun 5.8" x 3.7" USB Tablet with Cordless Pen and Mouse - Black

1 Answer

My tablet only recognizes a fraction of my screen

Shortly after I finished installing my tablet, the active area stopped corresponding with the majority of my screen. Almost anywhere I put the stylus or mouse is registered as the upper-left corner, and the bottom right corner of the active area is barely a few inches away from that corner on my laptop. UGH
me too. im borrowing the tablet from my friend, and it works fine on her mac, seeing as i was using it there a few hours before. then i moved the tablet to my PC and it only works in the top left corner!
HELPPP
D:

oh, and her tablet is the white one, not the black.

Same problem here, and my tablet was bought yesterday. If it has do to with other tablet drivers on the system, I've tried uninstalling that. It worked fine until I installed the PSElements that came with the tablet.

Hey!

I had the same problem with my bamboo one.I just had to re-install the driver (from wacom-europe.com) and now it works perfectly. I suggest you try to do the same. :)

Illustrator CS5 does not recognize my graphic pen, wether with the Wacom tablet or my new Monoprice tablet. It draws a yellow sticky note kind of thing, it is annoying and I can't find a solution,

I too have a tablet not made by Wacom. For some reason, Illustrator only opens the tablet-sensitive definitions for Wacom. The solution I found: Go to the Wacom site, install the latest intuos driver. You won't be using it, but it will trick Illustrator into thinking there's a Wacom installed, the definitions will be active for your pen. Mine seems to work fine now.

Cursor restricted to top left area using graphics tablet

It's the windows 7 tablet feature that causes the problem. To solve it you have to disable it. Go to start -> search write "services.msc" (without the strokes) and hit enter. Now search for "Tablet PC Input Service" double click on it and when a little window pops up set Disabled under startup type list box. Now if you want to see effect immediately there is a button Stop, click on it, and wait until service is stopped. When done close both windows. This way you don't have to even restart your pc.

Is this a cordless or corded pen?
Change the batteries in the cordless pen.
Check the cable on the corded pen for breaks or cuts.

Plug your Tablet in first with Computer off, Turn on Computer and see if Vista recognizes the Tablet. Go by what is suggested on the screen. It may help to do a Hard Disc DeFrag. before attempting the above.

My Genius Gpen 4500 has shown no Pressure recognition on Photoshop, Painter and the wizard.

Hello. I'm not quite sure if this will be useful for you, but i'll tell you what happened to me. I bought the very same model but without the mouse, the G-pen450. When I just bought it, I just intalled the driver from the CD, and both the painter X and photoshop cs1 trials included. I had no problem when I was drawing in photosho cs1, but when I uninstalled it and and installed photoshop cs2, I was still able to draw with the pen, but it had no pressure sensibility, no matter how hard did I press the pen against the table or how many times i enabled or disabled the pressure settings in both photoshop and the tablet driver.

what i did was downloading the new driver (the 2.0 version) for the g-pen450 from the genius page, and simply installed it ... and it didn't work, worse; now even the pen suite didn't recongize the pressure control, so, what I did was to uninstall the WHOLE software included with the table along with the driver, and then I reinstalled the new version (2.0). After I installed it, the instaling program asked me to restart the computer, so I did it. Then, after the computer was done restarting, I connected the tablet to a USB port, and then the computer recognized it, actually it told me that it recognized the tablet, two HID compatible dispossitives, and a HID compatible mouse pen. It opened that window that appears everytime you connect new hardware to the computer, and it proceeded to "install" all the drivers needed for the dispossitives.

After the computer finished installing, it asked again to restart the PC, soooo I restarted it again, when it was done, I connected the tablet once again, and this time it displayed that "your new hardware is installed and ready to use" balloon on the bottom right corner of the screen. So I tried opening photoshop CS2 again and drawing with the tablet, and this time it did work perfectly.

I think it's matter of uninstalling the old driver, and the bundle software (annotate all, pen commander, pen mail, pen signer, etc. ) and then instaling the 2.0 version of the driver.

Using dual monitors

that is usually how graphics tablets are set, sometimes they have function buttons that you can use to toggle between screens in a multi screen setup (remember that graphics tablets are not the same as touchpad.....

it is also possible to set your screens up as one desktop... this with a recallibration of your tablet could give you access to the whole screen area.

Vista doesn't support many things.. you need to see if you can find a driver for it or revert back to XP, or get a new graphics tablet
