    you need to give the model of the motherboard. try the following



    start/all programs/accessories/system tools/ system informations

    then click tools & directx

    you will get the motherboard brand & chipset

    This is not the motherboard model mate



    Via is the chipset manufacturer

    P4X400-8235 is the chipset type

    Bios=Bios



    The rest is CPU info



    have a look on the board itself for the make and model of the motherboard , then i can help you more

Which version of Award BIOS supports HT?


I suggest to visit the manufacturer's website. If manufacturer has changed BIOS or Update the BIOS, the patches or new BIOS will be available there.

Bios update


If updates are available, you can always get them from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

Why do you think you need an update? If something goes wrong like a power cut, or computer problem, your motherboard will be scrap. Doing bios updates is very risky and should only be undertaken if absolutely neccessary.

try to download the sound driver from here  http://74.125.153.132/search?q=cache:http://www.sis.com/products/sis661fx_benefits.htm  . if it fails again then try to install windows xp with sp2 not sp3 ok.

This Pentium III motherboard was made by PC Chips, not ECS.
