Question about Jade Ovens

Open Question

Jade Oven Surged

I have a Jade Oven that is about 3 years old. Tonite as I was cooking something, the lights in the house suddenly dimmed and my son saw a bright orange light coming from inside the oven. It had only been on for about an hour at 350. when we opened the oven door, there was a lot of smoke (not from the food), but no odor. Now the oven is "dead" with no electrical at all. We have checked the breakers and all is fine there. we still get gas on the top range, but no electronic ignition.

Sounds like you had an element burn out and tripped a breaker.

Find the breaker to the oven. If its tripped it should be in the middle position, not "off" they are sometimes easy to mistake for being on.

If you have a volt.ohm meter we can doagnose the problem and confirm if it is the element or not. (90% chance thats it.)

They are fairly easy to replace and usually pretty cheap.
But before you buy parts, make sure if its still under warranty or not. If it is, it could save you some time and money.

If there is no power at all then I would check where the house power comes into the oven.Be sure to turn off the power before looking in the conection box.Hopefully you will not have to pull out the oven to find the box.

Seems to be taking a long time to cook

To preheat oven just select the temp you intend to cook at and wait until the red light goes out,it is then preheated
Then you can put your food in and carrying on cooking.
Yes you do put it on fan symbol, but make sure it is on the right one , as some ovens have fan only as well as fan and heat.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.

Oven too hot!!

sounds like a bad oven temp sensor, small 3-6 inch, metal probe in upper left corner of inner cavity, 2 screws and the sensor should pull right out, replace you should be fine

Gas oven that cooks unevenly

clean your orifaces.

Also make sure that it's the correct stove for your gas type. If you're using a NG stove on Propane, you're wrong. It's making a lot of soot, and could potentially blow up your house. Stop using it until you're sure.

I am pretty sure this is just the steam escaping. Smeg ovens seal so evenly that the steam stays in the oven.

F3 Error Code

I know what you mean. I was cooking with this appliance tonight and suddenly it displayed an f-3 code. My advantium oven is less than 8 months old. Not sure how this happened or how to fix the problem. In order to sleep tonight (the constant beeping) I had to shut power off at the breaker pannel. Is this representative of the the type of quality that GE stands for???? I am sooo frustrated. I cook with my advantium oven all the time and love the dual abilities of this appliance. Like I said this is brand new and to have the f-3 code which apparently (from what I read) is a failed key pad. I am very dissapointed and am begining to think about pulling my stock from this company!
