Re: new dish network remote not working
The 6.3 remote has a blue number two key tab on it when it is shipped from the warehouse. If you remove the battery lid you will be able to remove the tab by pulling it out.You will need the other keys that should have come with the remote and use the black colored uhf key and insert it into the remote and put battery cover back on. Ensure the UHF antenna on the back of the receiver is tight and in the upright position. Now turn the TV on and using the buttons on the receiver press menu twice. This should bring you to the system info screen. There will be a remote address toward the bottom of the screen and usually this number is 1. Now take the new remote and press and hold the clear SAT button on top until all the lights across the top illuminate. Now release and key in 01 and press the pound key. The SAT button should flash three times. Press the record button and noe try to navigate the highlight to the done or cancel option using the left and right key. You should now have control of the receiver if not the antenna port which receives the commands could be faulty. If you were successful with the remote remember you will also need to program it to the TV itself to enable you to turn the TV on and off and control the volume with the remote. The FINAL issue that may be causing your issue is that the part number you gave does not match a 6.3 remote. A 6.0 WILL NOT WORK WITH THE 510 EVEN IF YOU DO ALL OF THE ABOVE as I tried it the other night to verify the accuracy of information that is put out internally. I hope this resolves your issue and if you need help programming the remote to the TV itself please let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

It is possible that those buttons have failed, but a bit more likely the remote lost the codes for the TV itself... since almost everything the remote controls... is on the DVR. I apologize if I am guessing wrong in assuming other "TV" buttons (like INPUT) don't function either.
To re-program your remote to recognize your TV (like when the tech first set up the system) choose from the following
receiver types to find the correct remote control TV codes for your
Hello Haley_cb, this is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customer service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could be of some assistance. There are a few steps you can walk through to get your DISH remote addressed to your receiver again. First you want to make sure you DISH remote is in SAT mode, you can insure this by pressing the SAT button at the top left of your remote. If you have insured this, here are some instructions on how to address your DISH remote to your receiver again. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to post back here or you can also email me at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com.
Go to System Info scree. You can do this by pressing the system info button on the front of your DISH Network receiver box. Another way to get into the system info screen is by pressing the power button once and then the up arrow button once on the front of your receiver. If both options do not work you can try opening the smart card door on the left side of the receiver and pulling out the smart card.
Once you are in the system info screen, hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
Press the pound (#) button
Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will
appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.
Had same problem - turned off Adaptive Lumina, Backlight control, and Ambient light sensors on the Vizio advanced picture settings and the Dish remote now works. Vizio was emitting an infared signal that interfered with the Dish remote signals with these settings on. TV still works and looks just fine... But best of all Dish remote works too.
Not all remote are compatible with all our receivers. Depending on the receiver and remote model numbers, if they are compatible you can readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link for readdressing the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.
I had the same issue with the 55LD520 and my Dish 722 receiver. Check out this link for some suggestions: http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-technical-discussions/193510-ir-remote-1-722-receiver.html
Putting black tape over the receiver IR sensor seems to be working for me.
You will need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a linkwith instructions on how to readdress the remote to the receiver. Select yourreceiver type and this will open a PDF document with the instructions. If thisdoesn't resolve the issue, you may need a new remote. I hope this helps.
First the only way the 6.3 will work is if it has the green number 1 on the tab facing you. Assuming this is the case you will need a new remote. This primarily is the remote for the second room away from the receiver. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
You will need a 6.4kit or 6.3kit and remote to communicate with the 510 receiver. The remote you have is a 6.0 and may work with the kit but I have never tried that application before and Dish does not recommend that remote as a replacement for the original. An 8.0 remote would work also. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
I have the Toshiba remote ct-90159 and the Dish Pro 301 receiver. I've spent countless hours searching for the same code as you with no results. Finally I gave up and just started trying all the codes for all the satellite receivers listed in the user manual. I landed on 018 AND IT WORKED! Best of luck to you.
