SOURCE: Citizen Eco Drive second hand stoped working

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries.
I started collecting a couple of watches and I noticed sometimes a jeweler replaces them with an ordinary battery. The watch will work and at the same time it will try to recharge this one until it explodes! In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types.
Okay, if you say your battery goes bad, or watch does not run okay? It may have lost the charge over time. First thing to try is to leave it on the window sill so the dial is in the sun. It will start ticking, but please leave it out there for 3 days to a week. The seconds hand will tick irregularly in steps of one and two seconds, to show you it wants you to readjust the time, as it knows it has lost time. Adjust the time and it should run smoothly.
The seconds hand should run in single second steps, if it takes steps regularly, but every 3 seconds or so, it tries to tell you that its power level is going down. It will be able to continue for one or two days, but you should get it into the sun more often.
Charging the battery under a lamp is possible, however this heats up the watch and this may reduce battery life. As long as the watch keeps running I believe it should keep good time. It is quartz anyway. If this is not the case, and a good sunbath does not help, the mechanism could be running heavy, possibly due to overheating the watch; no help there...

Those are great watches as long as you remember it needs light to charge.

SOURCE: Describe your Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive

Here is how to correct the 0 Position for your watch.

While your the crown of your watch is down in the starting position , turn the crown until the mode hand (this is the circle at the bottom of the face) reaches CHR

At this time now pull out the crown until it clicks two times, two the second setting of the crown.

This will bring the watch to the 0 position correction function.
you can turn the crown clock wise to correct the hour hand.

press the a button to switch hand to second, or press again to switch to minute. Then use crown again to correct 0 position.

The hour and the 24 hour hand is in conjunction with each other.

then push down the crown all the way in and you should be all set.

Testimonial: "Thanks much, that's great help, solution proposed totally worked. I have this watch for about 8 years now and never once able to fix this 0 correction"

How do I display the charge indicator on a citizen skyhawk C652 watch ?

i believe the chg indicator is the second hand - I have a citizen eco drive - if it double steps the chg is weak. a single step for each second is normal.

Hands came loose inside the JM0302-17E Citizen Eco-Drive Bracelet Men's Watch....and are just floating around inside. The digital part of the watch is still functioning, along with the stop watch.

bring it to the watch service center. then ask to put back the hands on its proper position, there's nothing to worry about it just loose. i hope i had been helped you.

I have guven this watch to my son everything is fine, but the clock hands are totaly wrong! how do i fix this?

Is this a eco-drive watch where you set the digital then the watch sets the hands? If so, make sure you are in the proper digital time zone. Here is the Eco-Drive watch web site http://www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/settings_int.asp?caliber=C651&interactive=C650

If it is not eco drive, you can still get to the special section at Citizen for your watch via the link I sent to you.

Thanks for allowing me to try to assist you @ FixYa.com

Hello i bought last week the watch bj2000-09e but my question is the orangs hand in the watch is it only for the eco load? i thougt is is for seconds.

The orange hand is called the "function hand" and is not for indicating seconds.

If you haven't got any instructions with your watch you can get them from their web site "citizen.com".

Click on "find a watch" and enter the model details and you watch will appear. Click on the picture of your watch and more details will appear.

On the right you will see "get technical info". Click on this and on the right you can choose a version of the instructions.

My Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive JR3000-51F Wrist Watch has stopped running. The analog hands have stopped at 12:00 and the left digital read out is flashing UTC and the right digital read out is flashing...

I had the same issue, and was able to reset it doing the following:

1. I let it recharge for at least a day in bright sunlight
2. I turned the selector to "CHR"
3. I pulled the crown all the way out.
4. I held both buttons down for 5 seconds (don't know if this was what did it.
5. I pushed the crown back in.

It did some funky hand movements stuff and then started off working.

What is the proper battery placement or orientation for eco-drive

The Citizen Eco Drive watches use special recharchable batteries.

In newer models they made it harder to use the non-rechargable ones by adding a special connector or clip to the rechargable battery types. If you look into the place where the battery goes, you will see a shiny spot where the metal clip needs to touch. If not sure, find the link to tech docs below.
