Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
You need to verify if the issue is present prior to posting. On boot up hit the del key (see laptop screen for prompt, it may be a diferent key). If the lines are still present there is a hardware issue and you will need to get if serviced.
If the lines do not show there then boot the machine and try changing the display setting for standard VGA to 800x600 to 1024X... (actual numbers may vary). If problem still persists then try relaoding the video controller and screen drivers and or searching the HP/Compaq website for patches.
Note: always make sure you keep you OS up-to-date with the latest patches.
