First try to restore to an earlier date. If that does not work.
Reformat the hard drive and reinstall the windows and the other software.

Hello here is the home page:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/ussoho1/Product/optiplex-gx280

I think you have some kind of a virus or malware on your system.

Install this program and make a full scan:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

You maybe have to start the pc in failsafe mode by pressing F8 while you reboot.

Install also a better FREE antivirus program:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5201

Please uninstall any other antivirus programs before you install microsoft security essentials. Run a full scan when installed and updated. It`not great to have more than one anti virus program installed. Most antivirus programs have a background scanner running to protect you from virus vhile you surf on the internet open a file etc. With more than one antivirus program the pc`s performance will be decreased.

There are a lot of things that can cause a computer to shut down. This could also be the power supply.Try also to renew the thermal grease between the cpu and the fan but BE CAREFULL not to damage the cpu.
If you are unsuccessfull at resolving the problem visit a computer repair shop.

When you talk about checking memory, it's the physical RAM stick inside the computer. RAM does not have sectors like a hard disk drive. If it does happen to be bad I'd replace it with at least 1GB to 2GB. 512MB is really low.

Good luck

System operating too slow, need to be reinstall

This may be because of two reasons.
If your system is on low configuration side, but you installed the high version Operating system or the system is overloaded with the lot of application, it may be slow. If this is the case try to avoid installing of higher end operating system & lot of other application, remove the unwanted application by going to control panel, add or remove program. Or upgrade your system to higher configuration.
Another reason is because of Virus. Try to download the Quick Heal Antivirus, Update it, scan your system in all possible way's like normal, native, memory, malware & root-kit. It may solve your problem.

Hp pavilion dv2000 needs to install new operating system

Each antivirus has some limitations regarding the OS you are using. The Kasperkey Antivirus version you are using may not be able to run on Windows Vista.

  • You can use any free anti virus available for your system (as AVG Free).
  • There are other paid version of anti virus softwares specifically for your OS Windows Vista.
  • Almost all antivirus have their Vista Version. Check their websites for details.

Why memory didn't detected (cause me) ?

What anti-virus are you trying to install? What operating system are you running? Some are not compatiable with each other. Try another anti-virus program. AVG offers a free download for personal use that's very popular with the public.
Hope this helps.

Possible virus in bios

The best way is to take out your HDD and get thoroughly checked up in another PC which has a genuine Antivirus, including Root Kit and ability to scan bootsector for viruses(QuickHeal has one). After getting it disinfected put it back on your M/c and do a clean Install of the OS.,,,,hope this will help 'cos once you viruses in the bootsector, its damn difficut to get rid of it.......sodeep

Anti Virus

Here is what I would do.

First I would start off by downloading the free trial of ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus. Afterward I would scan my system (In-Depth Scan) with the free trial of NOD32 (It doesn't use a lot of system resources). Next I would download the free version of Ad-Aware 2008. After the anti-virus scan finished I would scan my system with Ad-Aware (Full Scan). Next I would download and install Spybot Search & Destroy. After Ad-Aware finishes scanning I would start a scan with Spybot. Next I would download and install AVG Anti-Rootkit Free. After Spybot finishes scanning I would run an in-depth search on all hard-drives with the use of AVG Anti-Rootkit Free.

If that doesn't whack it, fighting this thing might not be worth it. Reinstall the windows operating system after you back up any files which you absolutely HAVE to keep.

Not able to install any Antiviris except Quick Heal

Hi shyjuu, please open the link below at Quick Heal & follow their instructions to uninstall the antivirus software. Click on this link: http://www.quickheal.co.in/installation-uninstallation.asp

Once the software program has been removed restart your system. Than go to this next link & download & install RegCure for free.
http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/clean/?gclid=CL2RiIrTmpICFSFMGgodODIPzg
This is a free download & will remove any & all none needed registry keys within you windows registry.
When finished, restart your system. Next download & install AVG version 8.0 free antivirus software to help keep your system safe: http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe
Or install the antivirus software of your choice.

Good luck shyjuu!
