Acer Aspire 5315 doesn't come with an HDMI port. So, you have the following options: 1. Use a VGA Cable to connect the PC to TV if the TV has PC-Input facility 2. Use an S-Video cable to the TV's S-Video-in port if the TV has it
First of all check out does both the LCD tv and laptop both have vga cable input socket This is the most important step, as it will allow you to buy the right equipment. VGA cable is the standard 15-pin connection that you would use to connect a monitor to a PC or laptop. Use a VGA cable to connect your laptop's VGA output with the television's VGA input. Use separate audio connection with mini-jack (3.5 mm) to RCA adapter. Turn on your devices. Once you've made the connections, turn devices on. Switch your TV to the input mode that corresponds with the input you used to connect your laptop, and you should now view your laptop on your LCD TV. This will help.Good luck.
If Your TV and Laptop have HDMI Port then you just need a HDMI Cable.
But if you dont have HDMI port. then you need two cables one from video and one for audio.
For Video you either VGA Cable(if you have VGA Port in your TV) or VGA to RCA Cable (Yellow Pin will be for video)
For audio You Need 3.5mm pin to RCA (white and Red for audio).
This pic is of VGA to RCA Cable
VGA has only analog video signal. It is not digital and does not have any audio either. HDMI is a digital connection standard with both digital video and digital audio signals. A cable with a VGA connector on one end and a HDMI connector on the other still needs a converter box to convert the analog signals into the digital signals required for the TV's HDMI. Since the Acer Aspire One D250 only has VGA output for its video, you will need a VGA cable to connect between the D250 and a TV that accepts VGA input as a video source. The sound is separate. A mini-stereo jack on an audio cable with two RCA phono plugs on the other end would be used to connect the D250 audio output (usually used for headphones) to the left and right audio inputs on the TV. You may need to use the TV setup screens to select the proper video and audio sources. With the TV on and proper video source selected, you now should be able to press Fn and F5 to get a menu in the middle of the D250's screen that allows you to select the video destination by holding down Fn key and pressing the F5 key repeatedly. The single large screen icon (3rd one from the left) is the one to select video output to VGA port only which would send it to your TV. The sound on the D250 does not need to be selected but you may wish to adjust its level and/or properties to be more suitable for TV.
IMake sure that you have the laptop for an VGA OUTPUT. When you toggle between the function keys. When your laptop LCD goes out it is in VGA OUT mode....when you toggle again it should be in LCD/VGA OUT (both TV and laptop should display). You need to set the TV to VGA mode as well...otherwise you might not get an output. If you still have a problem then test on a regular monitor to see if you are getting an output to the monitor
IF THIS HELPS PLEASE VOTE.....GOOD LUCK AND THANKS..
on the left side i think !! u have a yellow connector named Svideo !! if u have the cable corresponding this connector, connect it to ur TV via the Video input and press ( fn + F5 ) on ur laptop.
if u need audio !! connect the audio output of ur laptop to the audio input of ur tv with an audio double layer cable.
You get the audio from PC: you must use a separate audio cable to your TV audio input. Configure your PC Display properties to a lower resolution until you reach a format your tv can display. If you use a flat digital screen check the manual to know the resolution to be used with VGA input. Use Dual screen option or swittch main screen/external/both using FN key + blue key showing screen on your keyboard. (F4 or F7? check manual.)
