Thanks for your response, but we finally found a universal remote through Andca Airconditioning in Rosebud, Victoria. It cost us $90 and worked a treat.
Thanks and regards

Paragon 2000 with Fiet remote control one week old. Unable to get it to light, o should I say I have to be kneeing in front of it to get the romote to work. I am getting no joy from Burning Curiosity...

It sounds to me like you have a defective remote.I would try a new set of batteries first and then if no luck I would contact the manufacture and request to speak to a supervisor. If it is a U.S. company I would inform them that if I did not get some satisfaction that I would complain to better businessburea and then do so. A lot of people don't think the B.B.B. can do much good but most reputable companies know that to many complaints against them is bad for their business.
I would srtongly recommend you stay with it till you can talk to someone in management as to often phone monkeys are of no help at all. Good luck and thank you.

Help! I have a Kelvinator 2 KSR25F split system a/c that is not working. Every time I turned it on it trips the safety switch. I had a guy come out and look at it and he told me that the compressor is gone...

The compressor is the last resort. there could be another problem causing the system to trip circuit. sounds like a wire grounding inside the condensing unit control panel located at the contacts. check there first and inspect the other wires inside the panel of the outside unit before you decide to replace either a compressor or outside unit.

Circuit breaker keeps tripping outside unit still under warranty and I need to find a way to have it re[laced. Unit internally keeps grounding itself.

Contact the company that installed the unit and they should be able to assist you with your warranty. If for some reason they are out of business or unable to help. Contact the manufacturer. They will assist you in finding someone who will repair or replace the unit. Likely this is just a minor problem that can be fixed.

Haven't actually located a purchasing point for these battery contacts but have temporarily overcome the problem by use of aluminium foil which is a commonly known workaround.

Re NEC Model RSC 2412. Remote controll will not start unit

Sounds like the remote may have been dropped or has just gone bad. Contact the manufacturer for a replacement or you can try and post a thread in the electronics section for help on repairing the remote.

Furnace won't turn on, off, with or without remote

We hotwired the thermostat wires and the furnace started. That told us that the problem was with the thermostat. We took our remote control to another camper like ours and our remote worked their furnace. That told us that the problem was in the ceiling control for the furnace/ac. But the man who owned the other camper told us that he had a problem, too, and was told to unplug all the electric including the battery, wait 2 minutes, and hook up again. This might reprogram the circuitboard, and voila! It worked.
