Question about Dell Latitude C810 Notebook

Dell Latitude C810 LCD screen doesn't work

I have a dell latitude c810 laptop and the screen does not come on at all. I connected an external monitor and that works fine. I replaced the LCD unit as a complete display and it still does not power on so I don't think it is the lcd inverter.

I purchased the new LCD off of ebay that was tested by seller to be functional. Is there anything else that could not be functioning, like maybe the video card or worse yet the motherboard?

  • JBravoAZ Jan 07, 2009

so both LCD's are not working

Buy a replacement and fit it I guess. Why would you need to replace an item that doesn't fail?
As far as I am aware there is an adapter; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDD-Hard-Disk-Drive-Caddy-IDE-Adapter-Connector-DELL-LATITUDE-C800-C810-C840-/380698290269?pt=Laptop_Adapters_Chargers&hash=item58a362e85d and maybe a flexible cable; but that is for the screen.

LOOKING FOR NETWORK CARD DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS XP

Follow this link to the Dell website for the network drivers for your Dell Latitude C810 Notebook. Click on the Network tab and you will see the list of drivers available for download. In the future it would help if you put in your service tag that is located at the bottom of the machine.
Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.com

Dell Latitude C810 wont hold charge

Batteries for portable systems have a average expected life of 300 to 500 discharge / recharge cycles. On systems where you didn't use the battery a great deal, the battery may have a useful life of several years.

In you case, the batteries have long exceeded their normal life so you will need to find replacements.

I would suspect that your CD laser is bad (CD uses a different laser than DVD), and therefore should be replaced. Here is an ebay search to help you out: http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&maxrecordsreturned=300&frpp=50&from=R10&satitle=c810+cd-rw+drive&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&fts=2&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=60169&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search Best regards, torgo
