    Check All Connections

Remove CMOS Battery To Reset BIOS

    Try A Different Power Supply

    Remove And Refit Graphics Card

    Try Another Graphics Card

If Using Graphics Card Try Onboard Video and vice versa

Does anything power up at all? You might need a new power supply if nothing comes on

Also check the wall socket , plug something else like a lmap in and see if that works.

Ive also repaired problems like this where the RAM socket itself was actually burnt. Check for any burns on both the RAM and the RAM scoket aswell and if there is a burn on the socket , dont use that socket.

Is it onboard video or video card? Try reseating the card if there is one. Also clear the bios either by jumper or remove the battery for a second. Make sure the power is disconnected.

Swap your other ram card into the other slot to assure the ram slot has not died do this by leaving your new card out and swapping your current one into the other slot examine if it boots as normal.

In no way do I aim to insult your intelligence but have you ensured that the new RAM is the right type? e.g. DDR2

HP w2207 no vga input signal, no dvi input signal monitor goes to sleep

There is no signal coming from your PC.
excuse some of the solutions as sounding dumb, but we have to explore all possibilities.

Check the power cable going into the computer
Check the power input disconnect switch on the back of the power supply and make sure it is on
If the pc is plugged into a power bar, make sure it is turned on and the breaker isn't tripped
press power on the PC and make sure the lights are coming on.

now for the solutions that may actually help.

disconnect the power from the PC
if the video is on a card, remove and re-seat the video card
hook the power back up, connect the monitor and try again.

the CMOS on the computer may need to be reset.
I hate totally clearing the CMOS, so what I usually do is remove 1 stick of ram and power up. If the system is alive again, power down, put the RAM back in and power back up.
If that doesn't work, turn the system off, put the CMOS jumper to the CLEAR position for 15 seconds, put it back to the Normal position and then power back up.

Basically, if the monitor works on your friends system but not on yours, the the problem is your system, not the monitor (assuming it isn't working fine til it gets into windows...if that's the problem, you have a driver or configuration problem)

With a piece of wood or plastic hit the flyback with the monitor turned on. If you note some change in the noise. Replace the flyback.
Normally, it is the cause of the noise.

Warning: High Voltage!! Do at your own risk!!!!!!

Install a new graphics card and plug your monitor into that new video card. Do u get video output? If not, the problem is the system board. If u do, the problem was the graphics card.

I have an IBM thinkpad T20 running windows 2000. The computer is on and booted up but the monitor is not lighting up. It is running on 256mb ram and I was getting a lot of virtual memory is low warnings...

To determine if the laptop has a problem with the inverter of low virtual memory issues, plug an external monitor in to the laptop and you can change the virtual memory by following these instructions, right click on my computer, select properties, then select advanced, click on virtual memory and change the settings to system detemined, save settings and reboot the laptop without the external monitor to see if it is virtual memory or inverter.
Please keep me informed

kind regards and please don't forget to rate us

Computer turns on, but there is no display on monitor.

my goodness.. you have spent a lot in your computer i think.. i dont think changing mother board and installing a new vedio card will solve this problem.
as u have said that u have installed a new card make sure that you are giving the connections of your monitor to the gforce card and not to the mother board again.

if connection for monitor is going for gforce properly your RAM is the problem. as per your configuration its single 512mb ram. i would advice you to go and get another DDR RAM(same 512 prefrably) from any of your friend and put it in you mother board in by removing the normal RAM you had.
this will work for sure i think.
if this is not working dont rate me in-approtiate. i just triend my best. sorry and tahnks.. good luck

Monitor stuck in black

reboot your computer in safe mode, and then see if it will come up to allow you to change the resolution back. It sounds like you need to check that monitor model to see if it is compatible with this game. you may need a different one. To start in safe mode, on startup, you should see (before Windows starts loading) eithe to press F9 or F11 for startup options, then choose safe mode. Log in, change the res (right click desktop, properties, settings). reboot to normal startup and see if it is ok.

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

Buy a dianostics card, and find out if its the RAM, CPU, OR Motherboard. (sounds like a ram or CPU problem though) if you have more than one stick of ram in the system, take one out, and power it up, if still not response, to the other stick out, and put the stick you took out the first time, and put it back in.
