Question about SharpVision XV-Z9000U Multimedia Projector

Projector periodically displays blank screen

I just replaced the lamp on my XV Z9000U projector. The lamp only has 150 hours used. When I turn on the projector, the picture displays but doesn't appear clear (a sort of flashing with lines across the screen seems to appear). After watching a movie for a few minutes or sometimes longer, the picture on the screen goes blank as if the projector is not even on. However, the blue light on the projector is still solid blue and the projection light on the projector still shows a bright light as well. After a minute or so, the picture reappears and this issue may or may not happen again. This has happened several times in the past month or so.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

If the problem happens randomly, and the unit recovers after the raster disappears, then it is likely a contact problem.

It sounds like it is either a bad lamp contact, a bad cable contact (screeen usually blue , not blank), or a bad solder joint (loss contact on board) on one of the internal board.

All you can do is removing carefully the lamp and putting it back in place, following instructions on manual.

I had the same problem after I replaced my lamp. You need to hold down the:

On
Enter
Down Arrow
Right Arrow

simultaneously - this resets the lamp counter. After I did that my projector fired right back up.

Hi There Sounds like a lamp has died. The technical lamp hour spec life is only a manufacturers "up to xxx hours" and not what you will achieve in actual life.
If you want we are able to supply lamps as we ship internationally, @ $US335 for a SharpVision Z9000u Regards Kevin Andreassend http://www.digitaldaytime.com iceavtech@gmail.com +64-9-414 2348

Rolling picture

Have you tested the source machine on another TV or projector. The picture might be rolling before it gets to the projector so you need to verify whether it is the source machine or the content then you might be able to determine if it is the actual projector. Sounds like the vertical sync has got lost somewhere.
Hope that helps. Also we can supply lamps for this model if you ever need.
