Make sure you have the replacement cartridges, turn on machine, lift th e scanning unit and pull the support leg down. The cartridge holder should move over to the left side. remove empty cartridge by pushing down on the front edge and then pull it out. get the new one out DONT TOUCH ELECTRICAL CONTACTS OR PRINT HEAD NOZZLES FOUND ON THE SIDES. remove orange tape, and insert back into machine. black in "B" slot and color in the "C" slot. push up until it clicks into place.

My Brother 465CN recently decided that even though I have a new black ink cartridge in, that there is no cartridge.

The code is within the ink cartridge itself. If it is not a main brand cartarage, you may have th esame problem with both . I would suggest buying a main brand one .
heads can be cleaned with a tooth brush and alcohol. Dry well.

Black ink cartarage keeps flashing

It flashes when the ink has run out so replace or refill the cartridge (remember to get the counter reset at the refill shop).

Will not print black only.

take a STRONG, THICK sponge and cut it to the size of the hole that you put the color ink cartrege.Dampened the sponge in hot water (better yet...place into microwave oven for 1 min) Got to be dampened HOT but not drupey wet and place into hold of printer for 1 min. rub sround inside. If color comes out on sponge (that is good) you have loosened the clogged inkjet holes. Your ink still good? on the same HOT, DAMPED sponge placed the cartarage head down on the sponge and rub like you mean it. BE CAREFUL of the metal contacts & ribbons running up the front of cartarage.

Removal of cartarage of hp psc1410 all-in-one inkjet printer

Step1: Make sure the HP is on and paper is loaded in the tray.
Step2: Gently lower the print carriage access door at the front of the unit. Do not force it.
Step3: Press down on the print cartridge gently to release it. Pull it towards you and remove.
Step4: Gently clean the cartridge with a slightly moist paper towel and then pat dry

Step5: Slide the print cartridge into the empty slot, and gently push forward until it clicks into place. If it does not click, do not force it. Remove it, and try again.
Step6:
Close the print carriage access door. An alignment sheet will print to make sure everything is lining up.

Hope this helps & happy holidays!
