Kenwood Control Amplifier KC-206

May I know how much you bought this remote for, a link to buy it, and if possible, the remote codes you used to program it. Also, does it turn up the volume on the screen?

I brought it a while back, almost two years ago, for some $65. But it is not worth it to buy this remote to me. The reason is the power consumption of this remote. It eat up power so fast, that I get tired of replacing the batteries. Otherwise it is an OK remote. So I was lucky to have found that this remote would trigger the control amp. Not too many other universal remote will. eBay has them. Here is a link to one. http://cgi.ebay.com/Kameleon-6-in-one-Universal-Remote_W0QQitemZ320329874740QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item320329874740&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

You will have to copy the link and then paste the link to get to the auction site for the item.

I forgot to mention that the remote code is 1027. Yes it does turn up the volume on the screen; this is the volume for the remote sensor volume only. It does not turn up the manual control volume of the volume control knob of the control preamp. This is a separate volume control. So you basically have two set of volume controls, one done by the remote and one manually by turn the volume control knob.

Can i get a virtual remote control anywhere for my kenwood stereo control amplifier kc-209

The first place to start looking for them is in the Kenwood website. Perhaps they may have a dozen of so working remotes for you. Give them an email and see if they can help you. I had a roller door garage and after 4 years of use, their cheap little remote stopped working. I emailed their website and they had a few in a spare box. Guess what? They gave me two for nothing. Kenwood could do that too. All it takes is hit on the website and email them. Cheer

Cannot pair my RMT-B119A remote to my kenwood receiver, is there a code?

This remote control have no setup codes to Kenwood. If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. Check out, which brand remote control has setup codes to your TV/Device brand. Setup code list & setup procedure to some popular brand remote controls are given. Check it, and determine which brand remote control should be bought, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability. If you wish to get more details, check the sites linked here. Set-up code list, and Set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls are given. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Timeslide, can be selected by the drop-down list, by the top left of the display window, will make surf easy.

I just got a Kenwood system, i would like to know how to hook it up, it has, Kenwood power amplifier km207, kenwood stereo control amplifier kc 207, disc player dp-m 97, cassette deck ky-77 cw, stereo...

That's a pretty standard setup. RCA cables from the KM207 to the preamp (KC207), and RCA cables from all of the other components into the KC207. Speakers connect into the KM207

Kenwood stereo control amplifier KC-206 doesn't work

I was able to use an universal remote control that I have, a Radio Shack Kameleon 6 in one remote control which I was able to program to run the audio portion of the Kenwood KC 206 control preamp. By adjust the remote sensor volume to max, I was able to get maximum volume out of the unit and drive the power section very nicely. Now I have to get up and manually turn the manual volume control for addition volume adjustment.

Hopefully Ken can find a remote that he can control the Kenwood control preamp the same way I did. Good luck here.

Kenwood stereo control amplifier KC-206 doesn't work

I found this thread when I was having the same problem with mine. Turns out that it's sort of a problem, but not really. Looking at the manual (which I found in another google search) I believe a "4" on the volume level corresponds to a default remote control setting. The remote varies the level between 0 and 10, but the "10" corresponds to the maximum volume setting on the preamp. So it actually works, it's just that the "4" reading doesn't change. There's probably a pin you can short somewhere to make that default to "10" which would be ideal. But I'm not sure where that is. Now on to my other problem. This particular preamp has a subtle 120 Hz hum...

Kenwood control amp KC-206

Sounds like a low voltage to the front panel as the indicators are there such as control window illumination is dim and the remote does not function.
The remote sends an invisible signal to a detector just behind the front panel and if the signal from the remote is nice and strong from your new batteries in the remote then it must be the panel electronics.

I have found that if you clean the output panel of the remote with a damp cloth and the same to the front panel glass you may be lucky. Just Damp please not dripping in water!!!!!

If ypu keep the amplifier system very clean then this wont be the problem...But this action has worked on TV's with remotes...

If this doesnt work then a service is due....sorry....no quick fix..

Cheers YOU BEUT
