Question about Frigidaire FEF351C Electric Kitchen Range

2 Answers

Stove top I'll have something on the stove top, on low, I turn it to simmer and the whole coil gets bright orange/red, it gets so hot that the coil pops up, and the pan sticks to the coils. Yet on the other hand, if it's on medium it may or may not get above warm. What would be the first thing I should think about changing?

I have a kenmore range # 79094152310. And when I turn on the right front burner, the top of the oven gets so hot you would get burnt if you touched it, is this normal for this stove?

no --not normal
stoves even glass top stoves are only hot in vicinity of the hot plates
if the whole top is hot , call an electrician in to check the systems

I have a Kenmore Elite Kitchen stove top (one with the burners underneath a glass plate). Model number: 911 99004990. I believe it was purchased close to or around March of 2000. The problem I have with...

I have the same problem with ours! Our 2 small burners don't work at all and the 2 larger ones only work bright red hot. I called Sears and they said there is no recall on my particular model, but there are tons of recalls on other models. The problem is with the venting from the oven doing damage to the wiring (shorting them out maybe?). We're trying to find someone who knows anything about this and if we can get it fixed as our stove is only 3 years old.

Power, no heat unless oven is set on "simmer" mode.

it sounds like u have a voltage problem, do you have a volt meter? check to see if you are getting 220v at the outlet where your stove plugs in, next check the plug cord and the connections where your cord attaches to the unit, connections good and tight? plug stove back in and check the voltage, unless you have a serious problem burned wires in stove problem should be corrected by now

either turn down the gas knob or turn knobs to lowest setting without going out. That is about your only options

Low Flame is too high to simmer

there should be a regulator between the stove and the main gas line .unscrew lock nut turn valve clockwise to turn gas down. turn down too far , will turn gas off.

Frigidaire gas range FGF337

The ignitor should be almost a white hot color very bright . If it is orange or kinda reddish, the ignitor probably isn't getting hot enough to open the saftey valve. you could check the amp draw on ignitor , but most of the time if the ignitor isn't glowing bright almost white , that is probably the problem, besides that if and only if ignitor was good then i would look at the saftey valve. My money is on the ignitor.:)

Frigidaire Stove elements not working

First thing I would check is see if you are getting 220 volts to the stove.  Must be a constant 220.  Let me know what you find.
