Question about Televison & Video

AKAI CFTD2052 Doesn't turn on

One night the TV kept turning off. It would turn back on with the on/off switch (or remote), then it wouldn't turn on. I noticed a ticking sound from the TV in the morning, like a switch chattering.

I assume it is the power supply. I understand AKAI is out of business and you can fix the power supply. What would it cost?

How to get to the menu without the remote

Use the menu button on the TV itself or if no buttons, get a universal remote - You must program your universal remote with the correct codes required to activate your TV not vice-versa. Your remote should have come with a small manual listing codes for all TV's, receivers, DVD's and so on.

The tv stopped working. Can't get power to turn on.

i think your unit suffered what we call a surge current.it happens when sudden power out and on of the electricity.a large amount of current is flowing instantly when the power came back, like waves.so units which permanently plugged-in suffers.especially the tv etc.so if you can open your unit and check for blown-out fuse or any related incident you can find in your unit.its best to have a tech's help for that.i'm sure there is a defective part/parts in your unit.
