I turn on the projector and can hear a slight clicking sound, after a minute or so the red lamp light goes on. A minute or so after the projector returns to its stand-by mode.

I heard replacing the ballast will fix my problem, does anyone know where I can purchase one and a how to replace the ballast.

The lamp was replaced so I know its not related to a lamp failure.

i have 2 of these ep 739 and after being in a club which was filled with smoke machine smoke, both units started over heating and turning off. an overheating message is displayed and they go into stand by mode.i checked the fans and they still seem to run fine, i was thinking that they may be running slow due to a build up of gunk in the fan motors? it seems some bhow logical if i place a large fan on the outside of the projector this doesnt happen.
clarity on this isssue would be great

My oven fan has recently started to make a very loud rattling noise for around 30 seconds once every few minutes while the oven is turned on in fan mode.

The fan needs be cleaned and lubricated. To do this: Turn off stove/oven. Remove fan cover plate. Remove fan. Clean and lubricate the shaft bearings with 3 way oil. Install fan and cover plate.

Noticed the ice maker quit working a day or two later noticed things thawing in freezer. a day or two later i noticed the refreigator wasnt cooling. cleaned everthing out and tried to freeze some ice cube...

you need to plug it back in and see if the compressor is running on unit... listen to it for about ten minutes or so do you here any clicking sounds coming fronm the rear if so this will be a a bad relay on compressor or something to do with the compressor... if you remove back cover you will see the compressor on the bottom of the unit and can pit your hand on it to fill if it is running..while back there make sure the fan in the bottom is running next to compressor... if all that looks good the unit is probley going to work like a champ for a few days you recall any frost on the back wall of freezer back wall... if so then you may have a defrost problem either the heater has failed, the evaporator fan located behind the inside back wall cover has failed. a thermostat has failed or the actually defrost control... let it run and see if the inside fan is running also.. you will have to remove back wall to check the heater using a volt meter and set it on ohms to check the heater for continuity... repost with anymore questions...

Optoma HD 70 turns on with lamp and temo soiled lights

Asher fadida and alll,

The issue:
solid red error light?
HD70 "die's" after few min with strage noise?
flickers different colors before complete self shutdown?

well try this....

Before replacing your bulb, fan or any other component try first cleaning your optoma realy good!! HD70 doesnt comes with any kind of filter so you can imagine the amound of dust can be.
The most importent thing is to blow away any dust from your color wheel + the sensor attached to it .

for farther troubleshoting clean your fan's.
there are 2 fan's insinde the HD70.

probably the most problems will be solved by cleening the color wheel!!
if the problem is not solved ,chack the lemp and the fans if they work properlly.

For fan replacing:
Fan Part number: GM1207PKVX-A

Good luck!!

Lamp has stopped working.

Hi there,

thank you for using FixYa.

How many hours has the lamp done?

They are generally only good for 2000 hours, when hot do not touch, move the unit ect as this can damage the lamp. Never touch the glass part of the lamp (it is not like a light bulb).

Only power light will power on for few seconds then flashes.

Does the main lamp light at all? It sounds light a cooling fan failure. If the fan iis not working the the main lamp will not turn on and the power light will flash.

Optoma MovieTime DV10

I have the same issue, I have figured out its a fan issue, my fan must have went out. After about ten minutes the bulb will get too hot and the picture will start to turn a way off tint color. I put a fan on my projector and after about 40 min. the picture returned to the appropriate color. I am still investigation on how to get and replace the fan.
