Network Timeout error.... Going crazy! - Computers & Internet

Network Timeout error.... Going crazy! Up until about a week ago, I was able to access www.packratwiki.com without a problem. Now, I am getting a network timeout error. None of the computers in my house will connect to the site. I found a previous post about this, but none of the solutions have worked for me.

I have tried traceroutes by name and IP and both succeed so do you still have the problem.

The fact is that with your traceroute results the problem is not within your network but the next hop beyond 63.247.69.178 so has nothing to do with your systems or configs.

Hi

I am assuming that you are using a router/firewall for your home network which is hooked up to your modem or probably a combo of both. First of all if the problem persists you have to make sure that your firewall / router is not blocking this IP. In order to check this out ...

1. If it is just this site that you are not getting: download a program called ultrasurf. Install and see if when you provide the IP above and get the website to come in. I checked the website for you and it is online and working. So it is a local problem.

2. If it is all the sites you're not getting and you know how to configure your router, I would give it a go and reset it.

3. FInally: you have to add this site to the exceptions of your firewall so that he lets it throughOnce you have determined which one of the 2 problems is yours. Add the site to the exceptions of your firewall so that you don't stay using ultrasurf for browsing that site. By the way use google to look up the program i mentioned :)

I hope that I was of help to you :)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Error1606

These are the fixes for that error that I am familiar with...The first one usually does it.

Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes) Navigate to this registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders
Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”) Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

google the IP addresses and find their connected server (ie. 192.168.1.1 could be tied to testurl.com). upgrade your internet security (firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, anti-malware) and google CCleaner, download, and use. and if you use a wireless router, up the security on it by enabling WAP or WEP so no one on the outside of the network without the password can snoop in on what you're doing and gain access to your systems.
