Hello sir, I m facing a great problem with my computer. whenever I power on my computer power light remains on and all other process goes on except the hard disk light. it does not blink even it does not...

The problem is most likely with the Graphics card port on your motherboard. You will need to run the computer without a graphics card or buy a new motherboard, sorry!

I replaced my ram and now my monitor won't work. I took out the new ram, put the old back in and still no monitor. Everything I read mentions video card...where is that?

Being eMachines it is probably on board VGA. You can check by looking to see if the VGA lead to the monitor plugs into a VGA card or the motherboard.
Unfortunately it may be caused by static discharge when the RAM was replaced if you didn't observe anti static precautions.
Hope its a VGA board fault but if you install a VGA card and turn off the on board VGA that will work.
Hope that helps.

I have an Emachine model 568 part number E1573r. the monitor cable plugs into the computer but it has a wire with anther plug where does it go

Most new monitors these days have two 'plugs' for input:
The one that's 3 rows of 5 pins (usually blue) is VGA, which is the older type. (Picture here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/81/Vga-cable.jpg/750px-Vga-cable.jpg )
The more common one is a white connector, and lots of pins is called DVI. ( Picture here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Dvi-cable.jpg )

You can use whichever you want, but if your computer has DVI, use that, as you'll get a better quality picture. You only need one of the two to be plugged in

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

Analog power save mode

Are you connect via Analog (Blue VGA connection) or DVI (White Digital connection?

If you are connected via DVI, then you have to change the input select button to DVI

If you are Connected VGA, make sure the system doesn't have 2 VGA ports. If it does, connect to the other port.
