My blackberry is new,but it cuts off on its on!

I just bought the phone today(blackberry curve),and everytime i try to use it,it turns off on had like 85% battery and i cant think of any reason that it will just turn off on its on and take 30min before it turns back on!!! The man who sold it to me said to let it charge for 24 hours before using, but to me that sounds crazy! I feel like its another reason but i cant figure out what.Help!

I have an 18 month old B'berry Curve.....think it's the 8300+ the phone, but it has developed an annoying habit of shutting off at any given time when it feels like it! If I keep it plugged into a hard line it works well. When off of the hard plug, it develops static on the other end & immediately turns off whenever/at whatever time it desires to do so (5 seconds to 30+ minutes)!!! Have taken it to the hospital & all they want to do is sell me another phone for the extra $75 + the cost of a new phone because I'm 5 months away from my 2 year contract end!!!

Is this a battery problem or something more serious? With it being plugged into the hard line, & working, I think battery-? Getting a little difficult to stretch the cord that long!!!

    Appreciate all help & advice.

For starters, he's right. However, that won't fix your problem. A reboot is a downfall of the blackberry because I have one. To date nothing can be done.

Just got a brand new blackberry curve today and it keeps freezing up. Is there anything I can do or does it need to be returned?

try giving it a hard reset , it will possibly solve much of the problems . and if u did place a high capacity memory card , i.e 8 or 16 gb the phone is likely to freeze . try using a smaller memory.

normally a blackberry will not tell you to enter 'blackberry' unless it is trying to wipe the device.

Blackberry curve 8300 no signal only sos.

I took it to the original operator who checked the imei ,and they told me the data package was cancelled because the phone was under a business plan of 2 years and someone unlocked the phone so they blacklisted it.

Now I have to make a new contract and all will be resolved.

Thanks hope this helps.

Blackberry Curve is resetting itself for no reason

I had the same problem with mine. It started reseting when I tried to connect wi-fi to my wireless network at home, as soon as I entered my security code. To fix this problem I had to turn off power on blackberry (If you hold power button of blackbery it will power off when it gets to desktop screen let it go and your bb will power off). then turn power off on your wireless router and your bb should turn on. Go to manage connections and turn wi-fi off. Apparently it is a bug in the os. mine works great.
