Question about Sony PlayStation (PS) Console
Can you tell me how to get my playstation 2 to open with the two disc stuck inside please help me if you can
Should have a littel needle hole somewhere to free the mechanism
just like a cd rom on computer
if still stuck
turn ps 2 over pry off rubber feet unscrew lift cover (carefl to remove small cable, just remember where it goes,) Now you will see the disc drive. it isnt very hard to notice because its that big black box in there. You need a very small screwdriver to do this but open it up and retreive your disc.
After that just put everything back together and make sure you reconnect that cord.

The disk tray gets jamed alot u can pry the whole tray open with a screw driver or plyers the ps2 will still read the disk even if you pull the tray open it should realine itself and open and close you may pull off the front part of the tray but if you dont care about the apperence and just want it to work this solution works most of time

There are two main problems to be listed for this issue.
There might be a problem with the lens or the disc might be dirty
try with some other disc. Still you face the same problem you should change
Any local Play Station repair guy can fix the lens.

The PlayStation 2, like the original PlayStation, incorporates circuitry to prevent the playing of copied or out-of-region discs and programs produced by people who are not paying percentage to the Sony Corporation (unlicensed games etc.). User response to this - grey market for modchips. PS2 Mod-Chips when installed, bypass the checks and allow the copied CD-R and DVD-R backup discs to run.
Obviously the installation of mod-chips in PlayStation 2 consoles is widely discouraged by Sony -- the reason is piracy. You must know that Sony has overlaid a seal onto each of their PS2 consoles. If this seal is broken (thus providing evidence that the console has been opened and "modded"), Sony will refuse to repair the system. On the other hand if your console is more than one yer old and no longer covered by the manufacturer warranty you should not worry about fraking the seal -- it will not change anything.
It can be done spending around few $15 to $20 i guess.
I own a PS2 which is modded before a year and still it works with out any trouble. You can ask if u have any questions about PS2.
Thank you, Thyagu.A
